Motor City Sonics

6/9 12pm Florida (Singer 11-1 2.25) vs. Auburn (Mize 10-5 2.95) on ESPN

Recommended Posts

Tigers first round draft pick Casey Mize gets the start on ESPN against the guy that many thought would be the first pick a few months ago.

Gonna watch?   Gonna record it?

Texas and 2b Kody Clemns will also be on later in the day.

This is second time they've faced each other this season. The first didn't live up to the billing. Maybe this time they'll be better.

But this is the first time Mize does it as a Tiger draft pick - and we get to watch it live.   Sounds like it'll be raining around here, so what else is there to do?

Just one question -- has Mize signed yet?

For those who don't understand the joke, here is some history.  Danny Knobler used to have these chats at MLIve where he would answer questions using capital letters.  He used to get the same question every week: "Has Maybin signed yet".  So, some people from this site started going over there and asking that question in the middle of the chat.  And MLivers would scream at us to scroll up because someone had already asked it.

Haven't the Tigers already indicated that they knew they'd sign him when they drafted him?

Be silly to sign him before the end of the season?

What if he blows out his arm?

First batter gets on with a single.    Mize is the Tigers' future closer, I guess.

Hes probably not use to pitching with so few scouts around. Not use to the background

Mize has an easy 94 and 95.  I don't doubt that in a couple years he'll be touching 97.

I do. No way he could stronger. He's maxed out. Should have taken the catcher that can't hit.

Singer is struggling, but in his defense, a lot of the hits Auburn is getting were not hard-hit.     But he's at 68 pitches in the 3rd inning.
