Iglesias and Martinez. Candelario didn’t miss by much either.

Iglesias and Victor.  Both would have tied it up

This one is out of control now, 8-3.  Artie's ERA is 27.00, he can drop it to 18.00 if he gets the next out.

Adduci barely broke even playing poker tonight.  He told Artie not to go to Detroit, but he didn't listen.  He didn't help himself or his buddy with this move.  What is Deuce going to do with that guy?

Artie Lewicki to Matthew Boyd in the clubhouse: “You call THAT a high pitch count?”

One thing Deuce doesn't do is stress.  Sure, he might get distracted for a moment, but the night is young.  Is that Artie's new girl calling?

The Toledo game at Pawtucket got rained out tonight, so there really was no stress at all.   He's now ready for a night on the town.  There once was a girl from Pawtucket...

Artie, welcome to The Show.  I wonder how many guys have thrown 43 pitches in their first inning?

There's always a silver lining though.  If he showers right now, grabs his gear and heads out to the highway to hitchhike back to Toledo, he should be back in Toledo by 2:30 AM.  And he knows this:  Deuce will still be up, and he will have told some of the girls to wait up for Artie.  By the time that he wakes up tomorrow at 4:00 PM the spring will be back in his step.

Artie's probably already on his chartered jet to Pawtucket to hang out with the local talent.

Oh, man?  Deuce is in Pawtucket?  Well you're right, it's a chartered jet rather than hitchhiking.  Deuce can afford it though,  at least according to KPMG who prepare the financial statements for his corporation.

I don't know much about the girls in Pawtucket but I'm sure that Jim does.  And Artie will get to Pawtucket faster by private jet than he would have been able to get to Toledo by hitchhiking.  So By 2 AM he'll be drinking vodka and dealing poker, and tomorrow is another day as Scarlett O'Hara once said.

As a practice, Deuce doesn't reach out much, but he did invite a few girls down from the Provincetown that he met during a summer in the Cape Cod League.  Artie will need some cheering up.
