Hey Guys,  I am starting to think,  that maybe, just maybe the Jordan Zimmermann signing was a bad one.

Most disastrous signing in Tigers history. Decent pitcher in 2016 and the Tigers get a playoff spot and likely aren't dismantled in 2017.

It should be good for another high pick in the 2019 draft.

And four ex-Tiger hurlers all-star bound this year: Max, Ver, Price and Ricky.

And I did not realize that Ricky had an immaculate inning last year.

Miggy is crushing 95+ mph pitches.  That did not happen last year.

Miguel looks very good - no question. In fact the whole team in the field is really not all that bad if Jones doesn't end up in the tank eventually. They run, they catch and they can hit a little.

But every indication is that the pitching that will keep them in contention for that draft pick....

I was looking at the standings and KC and CWsox are both really bad. Or, at least, they have bad records. We'll see where the Tigers are at when their schedule gets more tough.

Prepare to be awed by the Avila Maneuver  - at or before the deadline trade the old guys for prospects and call up the kids to lead us to the post season.

Forget the trade deadline. I wanna know who's getting called up for game two.

JV is gonna blow them all away if he can keep this up. His FB is unreal right now -  as good as anything he was throwing 10 yrs ago. He hardly even used anything off speed today. 67 heaters out of 97 pitches.

Rod says Max is the best RH starter in baseball. But maybe Ver never talked to Rod. Hard to say. That would be a great starting duo for the '18 All-Star Game, wouldn't it? Could you imagine having both of those pitchers on the same team?

This team is better than you think.

Heck, they are 10-11, they are only 10 wins away from being 21-0, you know.   That's how good they are.

Math is hard

In fairness to Zimmerman, he gave up no more than four runs in any of the three innings he pitched today.  He kept the Tigers in this slugfest.

Very Jack Morris of him.

Note that not one player on the field right now is there in return for either of those two, so if you think this is a 70 win team, then with those two it's a 90 win team.

We are still too close to it yet fully process how badly the Tiger FO has ****** up just since 2014. The Tiger history over this period will go down in any GM manual on how not to do it.
