Motor City Sonics

Lions 2018 Schedule

Recommended Posts

Well, its getting announced at 8pm tonight.

Home Games
Green Bay
Minnesota
Chicago
LA Rams
Seattle
Carolina
NY Jets
New England

Roadies
Green Bay
Minnesota
Chicago
San Francisco
Arizona
Dallas
Miami
Buffalo

Any predictions?

Opener -  Monday Night at Ford Field vs. NY Jets.
Thanksgiving - vs. New England   (teacher vs. student).

Have no idea how good they will be until the draft, and still, we don't know the influence of Matt Patricia.  The team does have more depth than before.

I’m sure the NFL would love to have NE playing on Thanksgiving. Selfishly, I’m hoping that game is not on Thanksgiving because I’d love to come back to town and see Brady play in person... no way I could do that on the holiday.

Without really knowing how good all the teams will be, seems like all the tough games (Rams, Seahawks, Patriots, Panthers) will be at home. That's a fortuitous break I think. Dallas really the only truly tough road game (non-divisional) is nice.

I don't think you can just not include the preseason wins.

I swear we play Green Bay in week 17 seemingly every year.

I know, that's why I didn't think they would this year.  I thought they would assume Green Bay & Minnesota would be vying for the division so they would play each other.

I'm hearing the Pats on week 3 will be on SNF, so two primetime games to open the home schedule.

So far Weeks 1 2 and 3 are the NY Jets, at San Francisco and New England.

That NYJ is gonna be big, I'm expecting SF to be pretty good this year so they could be looking at an 0-3 start if they lose that first one.

They should beat the Jets.    And I am not sure the Patriots are going to be all that great.    They lost some pretty good players, Brady and Gonk ain't getting younger and there seems to be some fracturing between the coaches and players and we may come to find out that Matt Patricia was a great buffer between the two.

Remember, when sports dynasties come to an end, they do very quickly and even great QBs get to a point where it's over.   Great as Brady is, he's not timeless.   Peyton/Favre/Montana  went from being great to be below average really fast.

Yup. Brady has been insanely lucky injury wise, but at 40 an injury a QB might be able to shake off at 25 could easily end his career quickly.

They just posted the schedule, I'm having issues copying and pasting from my phone.  But our only prime time games are the two mentioned early.  Last 3 are at Buff, Minn at GB.  I don't like the idea of playing in both Buffalo and GB in late December.

I don’t like the early bye. But it is an advantage to have Patricia going up against the AFC East, and against Garoppolo. Advantage to get the Seahawks at home, playing a game that will feel like 10am to them.

Who is playing QB for the Jets?

Sept 30  1:00   at dallas

Oct 7   1:00    GREEN BAY

Oct 14    BYE BYE LOVE (Dedicated to Rock & Roll Hall Of Famers The Cars)

First glance, 8-8   but can't really say a thing until the draft.    I think they'll be in it and then lost at Arizona (where they never win) and at Buffalo (the Bills are getting better).

8-6 going into the Minnesota game. Both weeks are do or die.

That looks like a really tough schedule to me.  The NFC West will be drastically improved this season, at Dallas, Carolina, New England, at Buffalo and Green Bay in December. Brutal schedule IMO.

Also, how did the Jets get a Monday Night football game?

Got lucky and played them early last year, plus they were missing that fella that wears #12.

Edit: I thought you were talking about at Lambeau.  I'd much rather play them at home the last game than in that freezer.

Seriously, though, I think they will win 9.2 games +/- 3 wins. I think there is like a 95% chance that prediction will be correct.
