Jones probably should have been balling up Martin. A learning moment. Probably one of many.

As for Nick .....he will get better and anyone can loose ball in the lights.

The boys have their hitting shoes on tonight. The pitching and defense shoes were not on unfortunately.

The entire Tiger team must have gotten an unusually bad scolding from their manager after they swept the White Sox.

We could tie this game with one swing and...my bad, it's Iglesias batting.

EDIT - Ha! He comes up with the base hit.  Take the lead with one swing now.

Man, Dixon takes strike 3 that was well inside the zone on Gameday.  Oh well, it's a more interesting game now, 8-6.

HaHa - job you'd rather not have: coming in cold in the 9th to pinch hit against Chapman.

98 in the absolute bottom outside corner of the bottom outside corner. Can you say perfect pitch?

He must be having trouble getting loose in the cold if he's only touching 98.

OK there's 99.7.  Full count on Miggy.

EDIT - aaand, he chases one in the dirt.  Chapman strikes out the side.  Shocking.

/... sigh..../ Miguel took the most hittable pitch of the AB for strike one. I remember when he used to jump on a good 1st  pitch FB. Good times....

I'm still PO'd about the nonsense from last night about Fulmer 'improving his pitching to contact;' I sure as heII hope that was just interpolation from FSD and not anything they got from the team - though I've heard Fulmer talk along the same line so he seems to have bought it.

Can a team that is supposedly beefing up its analytics actually be so incapable of understanding numbers not to see that Ks are exactly what win championships in this era? Is Fulmer so dense as a player not to know it?

That is disturbing, to be sure.  Both questions.

Nick plays right field like a natural designated hitter.  I wonder if Nick will be the first player ever to make an error at DH?
