Precisely.

Now, just have to find a way to Vegas....

Drive west to the mountains, until they turn to sand.  Then drive towards more mountains that are sandy, until you descend onto an electric valley.

Thanks, but that’s no different than what I see on google map directions.  I was thinking more about a permission slip from The Boss.

Nope, not quite.

Sorry to make light of not getting out to LV due to "The Boss", but your misery has company right now.

There was an opportunity for a concert in October, but the same approach as last time failed.  C’est la vie.

this seems like an awful long time to be out with an ankle injury.  i wonder if there is anything else going on with him?

Not a good sing. Ankles have a thousand ways to heal wrong.

I know there is a decent sentiment out there that this team is a playoff team, and could possibly have home court for the first round.  But there is so much unproven about Jackson's recovery that really makes me question that optimism.  There's a reason they signed Calderon rather than a younger point guard.

If I were a betting man, which I am not, I'd put my money on Andre improving his game as a more likely way of the Pistons getting to the playoffs than Reggie ever being a long term healthy competitor. Not that I think the former is particularly likely, just that I think expecting much out of Reggie given his history is pie in the sky at this point. At best, I think the most likely outcome is that he'll come back and be great for a couple of weeks and then start running down hill again. I question whether his body can stand the rigors of starting in the NBA.

This team will not be good.

If they make they playoffs, it will be because a bunch of teams will be tanking.

I will be curious to watch Drummond. No question he kind of stagnated his first couple of years, but he seems to be willing to work hard on his game now and he was able to add/improve his skillset last year. Maybe he was at his ceiling last season, but OTOH, if he has improved this off season as much as he did last, he could be a lot of fun to watch.

Honestly, my biggest concern with Drummond is his skill set isn't valuable enough in today's NBA to commit the level of salary the team is committing to him.

That isn't Drummond's fault per se, but I am struggling to see how he improves the elements to his game to make this team say a top third team in the league or better.

I will subscribe to your theories.

yeah -he may not be able to do that no matter what he does, but that doesn't necessary detract from my fan's interest in what he does manage to make of himself. I think even in the 'old days' you still needed better (or at least more reliable) PG play than the Pistons are likely to get to be a top team no matter how good your front court. So I take that as mostly separate issue. I suppose Kennard could suddenly blossom into something no-one thinks he is, but the Piston's team fate is probably too tied to Reggie's health and I have no confidence in that. There has been some talk that if Reggie's health doesn't hold Griffin becomes a point forward - and at that point it maybe becomes even more important that Drummond be able to be effective away from the lane - but I take those scenarios are pretty speculative still. More likely more limping along with a 2nd tier PG like Ish.

i think drummond has gotten better each year in the nba.  i think he is the best rebounder in the league.  i think he is a great pick and roll finisher.

thats nothing to shake a stick at.

i also think he doesnt play hard all the time, is too uncoordinated to truly ever make a difference one on one offensively, and can be easily pushed around and intimidated.

if he focused on diving to the basket and playing hard all the time, bulked up, and matured more, he could be a great defensive player.  he could be deandre jordan or tyson chandler, which is what i always thought his ceiling was.

the pistons problem is that now theyve had to pay him max money and he's matched with a declining blake griffin and a subpar reggie jackson.

if they can somehow construct an offense of blake/andre pick and rolls, they could have something.  how that would work with brickmaster stanley johnson on the court i dont know.  the obvious solution to me is to get rid of stanley or move him to the bench, but whaddaiknow?
