Deadball players are looking down laughing at the Tigers lack of power.

A bunch of mollycoddlers.

Iglesias is hitting 60 some points lower than Mahtook.   Oh to have Eugenio Suarez back................

Many major league baseball teams have shortstops that can actually hit and field.   Iglesias can't seem to hit his way out of a wet paper bag.  He keeps trying to hit the ball in the air.  Those 250 foot popups would only clear the fence in a little league park.

There were some aberrations in Daniel Norris' pitch-tracking data last night. He didn't throw as many sliders as Statcast said he did. His velocity dip is making some fastballs that are cutting register as sliders.
His velo has been down all spring. More on that later...

I was hoping that he would end up hitting like Placido Polanco (can't we dream?)  but he's been somewhere around prime Adam Everett and it doesn't cut it these days, especially without Upton/Kinsler in the lineup.

Launch angle is certainly not for everyone.

I presume Mahtook's visit will be brief.  Then again he might have so broken himself he gets leapfrogged by a Gerber

Probably not just yet.  Gerber will be down there a while longer.   I think all this really is was just the need for an extra pitcher for a couple of days.

Don't they still have the 10 day rule except for injury? A player used to have to be down 10 days if demoted. Unless someone goes on the DL.

Well, we hadn't had a blowout yet this series.  Or maybe this will be another thrilling 10-9 game.

the plan seems to be to exhaust the Indians by making them take a lot of at bats and run around the bases

This is what 90+ losses look like when you know it's going to happen in early April. Last year had some hope before they proved to be a bad team.

I long for the golden days of a couple of years ago when the Tigers being dominated by the Indians in the season series was seen as a freakish result, rather than being totally unsurprising as it is now.

When you've only scored 4 runs since Sunday morning, an 8-run deficit seems a big hill to climb.

I can't wait until they do the injury settlement with Vmart so we can move on

No injury settlement. Victor is getting his $18 million.
