Who Did Miguel Pass Today?

Recommended Posts

Miggy's got a .184 BABIP despite having the 10th best hard hit percentage in all of baseball.  I wouldn't give up on him just yet.

cabrera could go 0 for the next three years and he'll still be my favorite tigers hitter in the non-trammell division.

I did notice his 'hard hit' % was among the leaders.  Didn't he do the same last year?

And does it not seem like he hits more than his fair share of soft infield ground balls?

I would wager you simply remember them more because you're expecting more each AB. If a Castro does it, nobody remembers.

@ktpinnacle, can you give Ken Griffey Jr. the <Hall of Fame> treatment?    :)

XOXO

GAME 24

No one passed.  But as Kari properly called me out, I didn't show proper HOF attribution to <Ken Griffey, Jr.>.  Guess Miggy had me snoozing.  But today is another game!

What are the odds of this?

It happens more often than expected.  Certain offensive performance stats are linked. For instance, if we were playing a full season, Miggy would be passing Charlie Gehringer in Times on Base and Hits this year.  Similarly, he'll soon be passing Reggie Jackson, who he just passed in Extra Base Hits.  In the Top 50 on many of these stats, you see the same names at this point.

I get that, but two different statistics on the same day seems pretty crazy.

Baseball has an ocean of historical stats and I dig the highly unlikely ones - like Musial having 1815 hits at home, and 1815 hits on the road. Khris Davis hitting .247 4 years in a row.
