Reyes does not seem like much, but he's the same guy who they selected with the first pick in the Rule5 Draft.  So, I would think he is probably going to make the team.  Thus, saying he won't qualifies as bold.

Like I've said a few times since the Tigers decided to start tanking;

There will be many, many players coming through Detroit that will be easily forgotten. Like an answer to a trivia question. Never forget the Milt Cuylers of the world.

Deuce gets regular at bats after the Martinez injury and hits 15 homeruns by the all-star break.  He then gets suspended for PED use.

Gardenhire and Tiger management, trying to get VMart to retire, name him as our starting center fielder. But only at home, so the fans turn on him.

Ladies disagree with you about his need for PED usage.

His father is putting a lot of pressure on him to increase his power.  Homeruns=money.  Deuce Sr has a lot of gambling debts to pay off.

Comerica sells out twice.

1. Opening Day
2. The night after the signing of young hot shot Henry Rowengartner.

3. Alan Trammell day.

4. Jack Morris day.

Are they getting their jerseys retired? Statues?

That seems bold to me. There have been enough quotes this offseason from gardenhire and Avila regarding wanting guys to play every day in Toledo rather than ride the pine in Detroit. And there isn’t much doubt that the three starting OF spots are spoken for.

A great spring for Jones is better than the alternative. But before throwing away a player, I think they wait and see how Jones does in Toledo.

That's a good point, very practical....but I still don't think it's bold enough :)

1. Castellanos goes .300/35/110 and plays adequately in right field.

2. Michael Fulmer doesn't get hurt, but pitches poorly enough to significantly cool down trade interest.

3. Dixon Machado hits .275 with 10 home runs.

4. Shane Greene implodes and Joe Jimenez is closing by June.

5. Somehow, we still win 70 games.

1. In early June, this board erupts in hatred of Ron Gardenhire for calling for a sacrifice bunt that Victor Martinez can't get down and thus getting Cabrera thrown out at second base.   This happens despite the Tigers winning a dozen games using this small ball strategy up to that point is the season.

2.  This board calls for Al Avila to trade for Alex Avila.....and then having him bat second in the order.......because despite the fact that he is only batting .179, he can draw a walk once in a while.

3. James McCann finally starts to hit righthanded pitching, but promptly leads the league's catchers in errors.

4. Nick Castellanos  plays a steller rightfield and wins the first gold glove by a Tiger rightfielder since Al Kaline.

5. The Tiger pitching staff leads the league in team ERA at the mid-season mark, prompting the New York Yankees, who have already fired Aaron Boone to trade Aaron Judge to the Tigers for pitching coach Chris Bosio....to become their new manager.

The Tigers are going to suck this season.  Book it.

Johnny Barbato becomes the Tigers set-up man after a lights out April and continues as the Tigers most effective reliever.  He then goes berserk during a bean brawl with the Indians in late June.  Carlos Carrasco throws at Adduci's head and all **** breaks loose.  Adduci charges the mound and Barbato storms in from the bullpen punching every Indian he sees.  He breaks Carrasco's jaw and receives a 10-game suspension.

Liriano wins rotation spot, and Norris ends up being late inning stud in bullpen.

It's hardly bold to say that it's about a lock that some combination of Zimmerman, Liriano or Norris are going be on the DL at some point so no-one is going to get shut out of getting their shot.

Major League Baseball brings back the bullpen cart and clubs do the following:

·        - Giants have a giant cart sponsored by Costco,

·         - Brewers use wiener mobile to bring relievers out from the pen

·         - Teams elect to let a fan drive the pitcher to the mound. The fan pays $100 for the privilege and his money goes to a team themed charity. For the Tigers, maybe a zoo, for the Indians, a reservation, for the Brewers, a local AA chapter,

·          -  During bench clearing brawls, relief pitchers all cram into the cart and ride to the fight in the infield,

·         -  Between innings: Bullpen Cart Demolition Derby

Nick has an all-star season and is dealt at the trade deadline.

Ronny Rodriguez is a finalist for the AL ROY

VerHagen and Farmer develop into reliable 7th inning guys

Alex Wilson gets cut during the season

John Hicks has 15+ HRs

Mikie Mahtook loses his job to either Gerber or Stewart before the end of the season.

These are good, kind of like what I had in mind when I started the thread.

I am inspired.

My official bold prediction of 2018.  0 combined days on the DL for Zimmermann, Liriano, and Norris.

Heck, I'm feeling exuberant today.  Toss Martinez into that pile.

Four different players will hit at least 60 home runs, and at least one team will hit 280.
