I see a lot "ifs" there.

He took Butler BUTLER!!! to back to back championships. He took a floundering Celtics franchise from bottom of the league to playoff contender in 2 years with a bunch of spare parts and has now taken the Celtics (without their two best players) to the ECF's pushing Lebron to the brink and you can just see how well his team plays as a unit going back to college. He's as good a coach as there is out there.

Miami won as many games against Philly as Philly did against Boston.

Philly almost lost in the first round if Miami just finished games better.

Want to actually address the point?

They are a good young team with potential. But they didn't "almost beat" Boston. They got beat down, and lost the series 4-1.

i think two of those games could have gone either way and that philly lost them when they fumbled away easy chances to win.  philly showed their youth.

i think the series was very close.

i also think boston is a very talented team even without heyward and kyrie.  with those two theyre the best team in the east.  stevens is coaching a really good team.

That is the NBA. Games can go either way quite a bit.  But that isn't "almost winning" the series. They only took one game. If this was a 7 game series that was close in every contest you'd have a point. But when you win 4-1, its not close.

Philly was exposed and beat in a very predictable way. Anyone could tell you before the series that Simmons' refusal to shoot and Embiid's stamina would be issues.

why are you throwing scare quotes around "almost winning"?  are you quoting me?

i think that series was pretty close and philly lost it by making youthful errors and boston didnt because al horford played very well, especially down the stretch.  but i think it was a close series.

i dont know what bothers you more, when someone says andre cant do something or when someone says philly can.

I understand hating the process Philly used to obtain its talent, but that's the nature of the beast nowadays.  Until someone comes up with an viable alternative to build a championship contender, tanking for lottery picks is going to be the standard going forward.

Do you work for the Sixers? You seem very invested in them.  Look back at my posts. I have said the Sixers are a good young team with potential many times. Following that up with "but they aren't yet title contenders and there are a lot of questions marks regarding their future/roster construction" isn't trashing them.

so youre not quoting me.  got it.

and youre the one who got their panties in a twist when i said philly played boston really close and a couple games in that series could have gone either way.

' if philly doesnt fall all over themselves in thr last minute of two of those games they might have lost that series too."

"i think the series was very close."

That seems to imply  that they almost won the series. My response was "Boston won that series 4-1. Please spare the "Philly almost had it" nonsense."

That is hardly having my panties in a twist.

The people who fully embraced The Process should want Philly to trade away their vets/guys who are tapped out on their performance (Redick, Covington) for more draft picks. They aren't yet title contenders and GS is so far above a better team that they aren't close to title contention.

au contraire ma soeur

and i think thats pretty clear that youre not quoting me.  not sure why you need to put it in scare quotes.

i thought it was a close series with a couple games that came down to the wire when philly made a dumb turnover or missed a layup.

Both series are going to game 7.

Love won't play for Cleveland. Paul didn't play in game six and I'd be surprised if he plays in game 7.

Houston iso-hero-ball is making my head explode.

Maybe we can trade them Jackson.

Jeff Green will start for Love.

The O/U for LeBron points + rebounds + assists is 57.5. I would take the over.

The king stay the king.

I suppose if I'm going to use a quote from The Wire it should have been Omars about if you shoot at the king you better not miss. Because Boston missed a ton. 7 for 39 from 3. Cleveland was only 9 for 35 from behind the line.

the genius of brad stevens couldnt beat a one man team at home.

this has to be lebron's best season.  he dragged that piece of crap team single handedly to the nba finals.

The most shocking thing about Stevens last night. That he kept having Boston miss all of those open shots. Stupid coach.

I judge a coach by what I think he should get out of his team vs. What he actually gets out of it.

If you told me no Kyrie or Hayward I never would have predicted game 7 of the conference finals.

That was a successful season for Boston.

I was leaving a Jimmy Buffett concert at Blossom in Cleveland last night and everyone was glued to their phones and giving updates.  Made my stomach turn hearing that the Cavs pulled it out.

The good news for you. They probably won't win another game this season.

You forgot the part where he got his team to Game 7 of the ECF without his 2 best players. He's clearly a great coach, not worth more than a superstar (don't know who said that) but clearly a great coach.

Anyway, this result should be surprising to no one.  I expect Golden State to win fairly easily tonight to set up the new and refreshing Cavs-Warriors finals matchup to the surprise of.... no one.

LeBron is so good he gave the Pistons an extra conference finals appearance.

Seriously though, taking that team to the finals was much more impressive than this.
