Just curious, where did you get the 75% chance number from?  I'd say there's a slim chance even if they finish 10-6 because that will be require either Carolina or Atlanta to finish 9-7 or worse and that's assuming that the west runner up finishes 10-6 or worse as well.  Because they lose all the tiebreakers, 11-5 will likely be required to get in.

Anyway, following up on this, my guess is that the resulting 70-75% chance of a 10-6 lions team making the playoffs is that more often than not either Carolina or Atlanta will finish 9-7.

Those teams, Atlanta in particular, have a really tough schedule so I can see some validity to those odds by just looking at the schedule.  I just think those teams are too good to lose 3 more in Atlanta's case or 4 more in Carolina's case.

The reunion excited Freeney so much, he even offered to play for the Lions the next day, before he'd even arrived in the Motor City.

Wiser decisions eventually prevailed on the latter part, leaving Freeney inactive for the Lions' eventual loss to Minnesota.

Caldwell lacks a sense of urgency. So does Stafford, so does his team.

Atlanta’s schedule is really hard. Minnesota, saints twice, and Carolina. Plus the Tampa game is a road game. 2-3 seems most likely to me.

One of my other PFF observations was that Atlanta is looking loaded according to them and is probably due to get hot. It will be interesting to see how that goes with that schedule though.

Certainly possible but Atlanta is starting to peak and can the Lions finish 10-6?  I have my doubts.

Well yeah. I’m only talking about the scenario where lions manage to go 10-6.

as of today the playoff outlook is not good.

They should go 10-6. But they have a tendency to play down to the level of their opponent. Lions should actually beat the Ravens. But I don't think many are expecting that.

I’m not sure what it means that they “should” go 10-6. It’s more likely that they don’t. It’s also not likely that they win this week.

I think the most likely finish is 9-7.

if I had to rank the likelihoods, it would be this:

9-7

8-8

10-6

7-9

11-5

6-10

I meant the Lions schedule isn't all that difficult. Even with the injuries the talent on this team is good enough to be 10-6 given the current record.

I don't hate Caldwell but if he can't get this team into the playoffs he doesn't need to come back next season. I understand he most likely will be back as he just signed a contract. He has done good job building this team back up but I don't think he can get the Lions over the hump of a playoff win.

Two nothing running plays to start

A dropped pass - that was short of the marker anyway

A colossally stupid late hit on the sideline

This team doesn't want to go to the playoffs, do they?

And Caldwell will return no matter what.

THE FIRST QUARTER COUNTS, GUYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
