Michigan State vs #7 Michigan - 10/7/17

Recommended Posts

Why does the Indiana game matter?  Michigan will be destroyed by Penn State, Ohio State and probably Wisconsin.  That offense is bad.   Come on, we all knew the #7 ranking was a joke.

Oh give me a break.  State won because Harbaugh is an overrated Carnival Barker.

Dantonio is a better college football coach than Harbaugh. Dantonio knows how to perfectly play the “we aren’t respected” angle, and gets more out of average recruits than possibly anyone else in the country.

That's great and all. Except for his dirty program.

And Jim Harbaugh talks talks talks and then gags.  Gets outcoached in every big game he's had here.  Every single one.

Michigan playing for the Outback Bowl now.

Yeah, we won’t be winning any kind of championships this year. This would be a good spot to start the era of a young QB who will be around for a few years.

0-5 turnover ratio is not going to get the job done. We were lucky we were even in the game at the end.

All of the holes that I saw against Air Force were back again today.  Inconsistent play all around, poor play by the QB, no serious running attack, bad OL.

The thing that was added today were several devastating drops by the receiving corps and two incredibly lucky fumble bounces for the opposing team.

Harbaugh is going to minimize the significance of this and blame incidentals but this is looking like a 3 or 4 loss season right now.  And he's going to have to recruit better marquee players on the offense, and fix the OL.

Stunning to see this team in this shape at this point in Harbaugh's tenure.  Things like this happen to good programs but not elite programs.  This is a huge chink in his armour.

because of Don Brown's defense.   That's the one part of the team that Jimmy Chokes A Lot does not coach.

Can we bring Chad Henne back for another year of eligibility?

And his whole offense too. Man those lines would eat you up and the WR’s were incredible. Oh and that Hart guy was pretty good too.

Does this offense have one player that would sniff significant playing time on those teams?

Harbaugh has work to do. The potential to get Michigan to elite level is there, but need to dial down the hype/optimism for awhile.

I'm not sure what harbaugh was supposed to call that would have made any difference with the weather the way it was in the middle of the second half. The chance they had to make any hay in the second half, there was no way you were passing that ball, and when he did, they were wounded ducks. I think it's probably a different game without the weather, but we put ourselves in a position to make the weather a factor. The inability to score a TD on the first drive hurt us a ton. A play like that isn't as big of a deal in decent conditions because you have time to recover. But when we missed that chance in the first half, I knew it was going to be a tough night with the rain coming. I found it simply astounding that they even had an opportunity to heave the ball to try to win it at the end with the turnovers the way they were.

Not sure how all of this is harbaugh's fault. Number one QB is out for the season and our top receiver was out. The players that are left have to make plays and they didn't.

Anyone dreaming of a national championship with this roster was kidding themselves. Anyone expecting a national championship in his 3rd year is a fool. It takes time.

Shut up and win.   Beat a rival when they're decent.   Beating a 3-9 MSU team last year is pretty empty.

It's his team.  He's Mr.  LOOK AT ME.   You can't do that all the time and then not take the blame when you get pantsed by your in-state rival AGAIN.   His team was not prepared.  They had a terrible game plan.    I got news for you  - Michigan State is just as inexperienced as Michigan and they hadn't even played a road game yet this year.   They both had to play in that weather.    No more excuses.  This is all about Harbaugh.              Dantonio is simply a FAR better coach than Harbaugh.     Go back to their first matchup and look at way they lined up for that punt when State had nobody returning the ball.     Harbaugh is a promoter.   Dantonio is a coach.  Big difference.    Tonight was just it for me.   Win or leave.

Yeah, I am whining.  I'm pissed.  One team was prepared and the other was not.  One mistake and they fell apart.

You're entitled to your opinion, but you're being a touch dramatic. It's painfully obvious neither of these teams is going anywhere this year. It's a tough loss, but no matter who loses it, it's still just a big ten loss at the end of the day. The bottom line is, State won two years ago on a massively freak play, and they won tonight largely because the weather hit at the right time. That's far from being irrelevant against your rival. Also, state had their starting QB. We had a guy who has barely played in 3 years and is a nervous nellie when his first read is covered. You aren't going to win that way.

I'd rather have this coach and this program than the ****show Dantonio is running. He lost all credibility. MSU is going to toil in obscurity for the rest of his coaching career. Michigan is going to win every recruiting war of any significance against him. At the end of the day, Michigan will end up more successful under Harbaugh than Dantonio will ever be for the rest of his career. I have no doubt about that whatsoever.

The reality is, this game is only important when we have a real chance at something. We weren't going to contend for anything this year. So it's pretty much the same as any other loss for Michigan. It's always a much bigger deal for state than it is for us. Who gives a rip when both teams are going to stink?

Any team in the preseason top 10 can legitimately dream of a BCS bowl and a Championship.

I think some 5-yard slants and outs to the TEs may have been effective against a blitzing defense.  Moreso than the screen passes.
