Quote

The Bulls might be moving on from Payne, as well, and a source close to the situation explained Thursday why that might be best for the -organization.

“We knew the second practice [after he was acquired] that he couldn’t play at [an NBA] level,’’ the source said. “The only reason it took two practices was because we thought maybe it was nerves in the first one.

I said before I could respect Kyrie for wanting his own team.  But not if this is why.

Because Lebron isn't an idiot who thinks the earth is flat?  And I realize there is a chance he is joking about that.  But in my opinion, that makes it worse.  Kids look up to him and care what he thinks and has to say.  That is not something to joke about.

Stoudemire announced he is retiring from basketball.  He was playing in Israel.

So fun to watch before injury.

A team has 5 players on the court for 48 minutes each game, for a total of 240 minutes.

240 minutes for 82 games means a team plays 19,680 minutes, not counting any overtime.

Bostons opening day roster this year only returns players that played 7.196 of those minutes.

22 points, 12 assists, 9 rebounds, 7 steals.

How many players have the best game of their career the first game of their career?

I definitely was intrigued by him after this game. A few people around here hung on to him being good for wayyyyy too long though haha

Tilman Fertitta just bought the Rockets for $2.2B.

He owns Morton's, Rain Forest Cafe, Golden Nugget Casinos, and a bunch of other stuff.

Leslie Alexander bought the Rockets in 1993 for $85M.

Wow, now that is how you sell a team!

RFC is garbage and I'll never eat at one again, but GN's LV property had the most active casino floor I walked into in July.

I think I mentioned this before.  But it's worth repeating.

The 1985-86 Kansas coaching staff consisted of Larry Brown, Alvin Gentry, RC Buford, Greg Popovich, and Bill Self.

He left the NBA the same way I decided not to date supermodels.

This kid really is an enigma.  Capable rebounder and solid shooter, but really undertooled athletically.

Devin Booker is being praised for buying tickets for 270 kids to attend a WNBA playoff game.

Seems like punishment to me.

Leslie Alexander made out like a bandit.  Here is how the sale of the Rockets breaks down.

$2.2B total.  Fertitta pays $1.75B in cash, assumes $175M in debt, and borrowed $275M from Alexander.

So he gets the cash up front and collects interest on a $275M note.  Sweet deal.

I wonder what kind of rate he got?

That will ease the sting of the disappointment from the McGrady/Ming years a little bit.
