what a meaningless statistic, like most individual statistics in football.

i dont have a problem with lawson, he's ok.  its hard to have a pro bowler at every position.

Agreed.  You want your corners to not give up yards/catches/td's.

It looks good... until you realize that Malcolm Butler was undrafted, has made a Pro Bowl, and had a Super Bowl-clinching goal line interception. Suddenly not as impressive.

pff rated malcom butler the #2 cornerback last year despite being so far behind nevin lawson in that most meaningful stat.  lawson didnt rank in the top 25.... (slay did)

Well for one, its his entire job.

My issue was with your all encompassing statement about individual statistics. I like to think we are past such antiquated thinking when it comes to this stuff.

So just to be clear, you're using PFF to say why PFF's stat is no good? Hmmmm

not really.  his entire job encompasses a lot more than that.

almost all individual stats when taken on their own without other stats to place them in context are meaningless.  or perhaps a better word than meaningless would be "incomplete".

See now incomplete is fine. Of course it is. I would argue that coverage is his main job though and this stat shows that he likely has been strong in coverage. I did mention his flaws in my other post.

The slide would be more useful if it compared productivity against the estimated value of the draft slot.

Seems like covering a team's 3rd or 4th receiving option would help your yards/coverage snap.

Look. Another post where MAROTH4MVP trolls another poster.

I had to go back all the way to his last post to find it.
