Starting at the beginning:

What kind of goofball sports league only has 1/5 of its teams play on its opening day?

I kind of miss Opening Day starting in Cincinnati.

I don't blame MLB for taking advantage of today.  Nothinhg else sporting wise happens on today.

Typical Ohio's personage. I miss the days when the Tigers opened the baseball season.

Nah, not an Ohio thing.  Just a nod to Cincinnati as being the first professional MLB team.  I believe it was a long standing tradition before games were moved to Sunday.

But, I do also think Detroit should open at home, strictly for selfish reasons.

Remember a few seasons ago when MLB opened on a Friday?

Yep. I hate when they start on the road. Takes away form the great feeling that Opening Day has. Especially if they have not done well in the first few road games. Kind of hard to get excited about 0-3.

Mad Bum is putting on a show. First pitcher in history to hit two homers on opening day.

Just noticed that the Nats batting helmets have raised letters. I've never seen that.

A super-duper utility player?

Christian Bethancourt makes Padres roster as P/C/OF hybrid

Now if only he could play the IF too...

Throw back to the 19th Century.
