I think the Tigers get in as a wild card. Cleveland has to be the favorite right now. But not by as much as the "experts" are predicting.

I think the Red Sox win the East. Jays get a WC.

I think the Rangers win the West.

NL:

Nats, Mets*, Cubs, Cards*, Giants

Red Sox win it all, beating the Giants.

* Keep in mind, my predictions are always wrong. So I just jinxed the heck out of Sox nation.

Surprise teams

AL- Mariners.  Not sure if they should be considered a surprise team since many are picking them to compete for the playoffs but I can't really think of another team to put here.  I also think they will win more games than most are predicting.

NL- Braves   I think their prospects and young guys take off sooner then they expect and they will win 80+ games and be in the WC hunt.

I also think the Braves will be better than most prognosticators are giving them credit for.

Harold Reynolds said the Braves would be above .500 so they probably won't.

Surprise teams from each league?

A.L
Detroit Tigers will be within 3 games of Cleveland,  that will be a surprise.

N.L.
Philadelphia Phillies will start slowly but catch fire when Larry Bowa is promoted to manager and will flirt with making the playoffs for awhile before fading the last 3 weeks.

Disappointments?

A.L.
Texas Rangers will stumble out of the gate and never really get right, they'll still finish 3rd because the A's and Angels are so bad.

N.L.
Miami Marlins who will end up trading anyone they can including Giancarlo Stanton, who'll end up in Houston.   Their 2,500 season ticket holders will be pissed.

Rangers have two starting pitchers and then their rotation gets scary bad. They also were really lucky last season to win a bunch of 1 run games.

It's all about "most" and "least".      The team that has the most talent....the team that makes the least mistakes..... the team that has the least amount of injuries....and the team that has the most luck......will win the world series.

With a month left to go in the regular season I figure I'd give this a bump.  My division picks are fine but boy did I miss on the wild card.  Three of the four teams I picked to win the WC ended up being 3 of the worst teams in baseball.  My award winner picks weren't much better.  I may end up being right with Stanton, and Betts and Verlander have been solid but the rest were complete busts.

That Dodgers pick isn't looking to bad at this moment. 7 out of 10 playoff teams not bad either. Just proves its better to be lucky than know what your doing.

The NL race is getting interesting at least. Milwaukee is now basically behind both the Cubs and the Rockies by 2-3 games. And the Marlins are 4.5 back of the Rockies, too.

Colorado was sitting in pretty good shape for a while, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them miss the playoffs at this point. The odds are still in their favor, of course.
