From the new promo... are they foreshadowing Cersei becoming a white walker/wight? But they never give things like that away so I would assume no.

Great promo. The three main players all in their respective seats (kings landing, dragonstone(?), and winterfell).

I don't think there is any foreshadowing from that cersei shot. It's just showing how it's cold in kings landing now that winter is finally here.

The eye of the white walker is just a cool shot.

I would say it is just a way for them to say White Walkers will be coming to Kings landing this season.  Or in the least invading 'her land'.

I didn't see it that way. I took it as "these three groups are the primary one's jockeying for the throne, but keep an eye on the white walkers. They are going to F things up for all of them".

I meant the part about Cersei blowing cold air and immediately cutting to the WW, but I think Shelton's right there and that they just wanted to show that winter has come to KL.

I'm putting the over/under of her death at episode 5.5 of this season.

I'll take the over. I get the feeling that cersei is going to be around for the long haul, or at least into the final season.

I do think that with this season being shorter than past seasons, the episodes are going to be better. I think they are going to tighten things up. Of course, they probably have the shorter season because the stories are tightening up, rather than it being a case of trying to cram 10 episodes worth of story into 7.

Regardless, I think this is going to be the best season yet

I really need to binge watch the last couple seasons.  The production on this show is pretty amazing.  The story is pretty compelling and the acting is always really good IMO.

This past season certainly seems worthy of a rewatch. I would love one day to start rewatching from the beginning, but that's 60 hours up to this point. Pretty daunting, and with so much going on in the show it's not the type of thing you can put on in the background and still get the right effect.

I sat down to start a whole series rewatch a few months ago...I only made it about twenty minutes in and it felt too daunting haha.

Agreed, not this season.

I think the acting, particularly in the first few seasons, was incredibly good.  I really wish Sean Bean hadn't been killed off.

It's so hard to judge actors, but Jon snow and Robb didn't come off as particularly good early on. Arya was great from the start, but that's about it for the kids I think.

Overall this show has been full of great actors, though.

Agreed on Arya. Lots of natural talent there. I don't feel like looking up names but the Queen of Thorns and the Viper have been especially good. I thought the guy who play Ramsay did a fantastic job as well. Jon and Sansa were pretty awful the first few seasons but he haven't bothered me as much the last few.

Britain tends to develop a lot of really good actors. Not sure what they're doing but they have the formula down.

They sure do. My wife is such a fan of Britain's TV shows and actors that I had to get that streaming service (Acorn) that just shows British stuff. She swears their TV is the bestest TV!

I then have to remind her of Breaking Bad, Mad Men etc.

Did she watch Detectorists? I believe that was on Acorn.

If it is about British detectives......I'm sure she has.

I'll ask her tonight.

EDIT: Scratch that. I just texted her. She says she knows about it but that isn't her thing. She likes the darker detective shows. This is a comedy, apparently?

Sansa bothered me quite a bit as well early.  I really wonder how much of the improvement is the actress getting better or just how the difference in her character and how she grows in the role was planned out in terms of her acting it.

She just has a very dead-eyed stare... like the daughter on The Leftovers. You have to act with your face as well and Sansa is pretty bad at it. She's definitely getting better at least.
