If we could get him as a cheap flyer, say 1/3, I'd do it. Otherwise, go a rookie or a Rex Burkhead type

I find myself in that same boat too. I'd take the risk on him because the talent is most certainly there, but at the right price. I don't expect Quinn to go crazy on payroll during FA, so there may be a little financial flexibility in-terms of taking the risk on Charles. If some other team is going to swoop in and make a $5mil plus per year type of offer than count me out.

Possible small clues to how some of our offseason will go

- We talked to a lot of RBs at the combine today. I'd be surprised if we don't draft one.

- Quinn said he'd like to take a swing at some of the bigger free agents.

Probably up front or at linebacker.  I'd much rather go young at RB.

Re-signed muhlbach.

Good thing we drafted a fricking long snapper last year.

Yah, I'd guess a DL, Hightower or Zeitler if we spend big on one guy. I can't see paying 2 CBs big money

It never mattered, still doesn't.

Negotiations for free agency have opened, FA starts Thursday as far as actually announcing signings.

I'm guessing Warford and Reiff both walk and we sign a cheaper veteran G and Sebastian Vollmer to fill the holes.

I feel like Boldin should be back, but I know they've looked at veteran WRs like Andre Holmes and a few others.

A veteran TE or 2 is pretty much a guarantee, same for LB

It is an exceedingly deep draft at TE. I'd prefer to draft one of them, than pay for a FA. Warford is less important than re-signing or replacing Reiff as there are two in house options.

It's good of you to finally admit that it didn't "send a message to the team."

Of all the ridiculous arguments that are floated around on this board, that had to be the most ridiculous.

Lions have interest in FAs LB Paul Worrilow and CB Logan Ryan.

Logan Ryan paired with Slay and Quin in the secondary would mean we would be all set in the backfield. I really hope they're aggressive in going after Ryan.

Ryan would be interesting. Probably means Lawson walks next year but I Can live with that .Hopefully we would have drafted at least one CB in this class.

Worrilow would be nice. Probably a Bynes upgrade and he plays STs

Good signing.

Looking at his PFF numbers from last year it seems to be. $9 million seems steep, but that's probably going to be the new norm for good right tackles.

Plus it means that we are no longer interested in Mike Remmers.  I was worried for a bit..

Would love to sign Wagner's buddy Kevin Zeitler.  That would be a great right side of the line.

Is Wagner any better than Reiff?  Nice signing but might as well have just re-signed Reiff, no?  I can't imagine that Reiff was commanding more than $9M/yr.

Reiff was downright awful.   This is an upgrade.  Good move by Quinn.
