On the of chance that Bob Quinn should read the board for armchair advice, I would like to remind him that I also am still available.

he's got all day to make up for two straight disappointing picks.  especially golladay.  that was a big reach for a project player.

If it gets to the sixth round and there is no long snapper available, I'd say go for it Quinn!

So Trubisky was booed by Chicagoans during the Bulls game.

Wow... that's not a good thing.

And honestly, it isn't his fault of course... Chicago trading up one spot to get him seemed silly and I'm sure that's part of the reason fans were not thrilled.

He ran a 4.5 flat at 6'4 218. He's a big deep threat and RZ target We have plenty of guys for the quick, short stuff. I hope they bring back Boldin so he can develop a little.

I don't know anything about the guy, but you can't teach speed, you can't teach height, and you can't teach hands. He has all of the above.

You can, however, teach route running and technique. This is an interesting test of the coaching staff. If Golladay does not contribute by the end of next season, I view that as more an indictment of coaching than of the pick or the player.

Being coachable is also a skill that not everyone has.

If Butt is there at 18... do you take him?

What about 21?

So the answer at 18 is no...

How bad is Jake Butt's injury? I mean he's making a good deal of money through that insurance policy, but still.

Wow.... A TE taken, but it wasn't Butt.  For what it's worth, Butt has a 5.7 grade on NFL.com while Roberts only has a 5.45.  Seems odd...

So, RB and DL are still needs in my humble opinion.  I'd prefer to see them go DL next, but I dunno if there's a sleeper RB that they should be looking at.

Roberts is big, but is a better receiver than blocker right now.  I would expect him to improve as a blocker.

They have plenty of DL right now.  RB is the deepest position in this draft.  The Lions also need a backup QB, and could take one with any pick now.

Do you have reason to believe Golladay is not coachable?

I know very little about him, but what I have read indicates that he has a drive to play football, and he has pushed as hard as he can to be able to live his NFL dream.

I don't pretend to know whether he is a good or bad pick relative to other talent and other needs, but it seems like Quinn has good reasons to believe this risk will pay off given the right coaching.

roberts is an ok pick, i guess.  should be able to learn how to block.  maybin is really small and has been injured.  has speed to burn.  lions improving their linebacking corps speed a lot, which is good.

havent touched their dline or rb issues.

disappointing draft so far, imo.

bengals are killing it.

As much as I love UM players & would have loved rooting for Jake Butt with the Lions, we have had major trouble catching the football the past few years.  This TE from Toledo has the biggest hands in the draft.  Let's hope that means fewer drops.  Still need an RB
