The Koch’s do not support Trump.

But the Kochs (and others like them) spent a lot of money over a lot of years creating the current GOP voter base. You don't always get exactly what you pay for in America.

Or any where else I suppose. The House of Saud and ISIS are each other's sworn enemies, but it was still Saudi money funnelled through the Madrasas they created that in large part gave birth to the movement.

The Koch’s have their own motivations

Very true - and they can cry all the crocodile tears over Trump they like, but Koch Refining is loving every minute of the emasculation of the EPA and climate change denial.

I don't think Clinton was a hard liberal.  She seemed closer to the center.  People just didn't like her for various reasons.

I don’t think she is either but she had a lot of baggage and that’s what I meant.  I see the best chance of a trump blowout is Biden.  He checks the right boxes and his only negative is his age and that’s the same for Trump.  With Biden we are looking at a landslide.

IDK, Biden isn't that good a campaigner - and who knows if he has the energy for it now. Biggest thing is that he will not energize Dem constituencies and to correct my previous post, there is one other route to disaster for the Dems, and that is a candidate that inspires apathy. The Dems can win easily but they do have to come out. I'm not sure Biden will pull them. He certainly doesn't excite me as a change agent.

Yeah I can see that. Biden could run for one term and work to repair the damage done by Trump. He could agree not to run for a second term to give a fresh Dem face a chance...and give the GOP time to repair its brand.

The younger voters finally came out in 2018.  They need to keep them coming.  I don't think Biden does that.

I think they will come out in 2020 regardless of who the Dems run, assuming they don’t nominate a horrible candidate. Trump has given them most of the motivation needed to vote - all Dems need to do is put the icing on the cake.

One good thing about Biden is he won't get rattled by Trump.  That's going to be more important than it should be.

The oldest man ever elected president was Reagan, who was 73 when he was elected to his second term. Trump would eclipse that because he would be 74 when he is re-elected in 2020. By comparison, Biden would be 78 by the time 2020 even rolls around. There is no technical age limit, but given the rigors of the job, Trump's age is even pushing it. Being 78 at the time you are elected is way too old in my opinion. But if Joe feels up to it, I'd welcome him doing it. Trump would mop the floor with him.

I agree with you regarding age, but I don’t think Trump would bring it up because of his own advanced age. If Biden campaigned on only pursing one term as a stopgap and a healer of a completely dysfunctional Executive Branch, that might be enough to alleviate age concerns.

How long will it take for the pictures of Joe fondling women to come out.  How will that play with the #metoo movement?

He's toast.

Valid observations. I don’t think Biden will get the nomination anyways though.

Who would you like to see get the nomination, knowing that you think they all suck anyways? :)

Women? I'd suggest reviewing the youtube videos. It's not limited to women.

I don't think Biden will get the nomination.  The 2018 elections were driven by women and youth who wanted new faces.  I think 2020 will be similar.
