2016-17 Prediction thread

Recommended Posts

Lets make some predictions so we have something to laugh at later.  Don't just predict records, predict anything you want.  The team will shoot X% from three.  PlayerX will make the all star game.  PlayerX will shoot X%.  Make any prediction you want about the team, players, or league.

Drummond will shoot above 48% from the charity stripe.

Pistons make the playoffs, Cavs won't be the 1st round opponent.

KCP won't improve his shooting enough to warrant a huge deal, yet he is likely to get one.

One of the starting 5 won't be on the team come February (morris or harris).

SJ will be a boss.

Warriors won't win 73 games, won't win the title (Cavs repeat)

Spurs are fine.

Clippers will lose in 2nd round again, Blake Griffin is unlikely to punch any trainers (-300 on no fists thrown).

Pistons with 47 wins.

The Pistons win 50 games.

They advance to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

KCP shoots at least 35% from three.

KCP makes one of the all defensive teams.

Drummond shoots less than 40% from the line.

The Pistons will be a top 10 defense this year.

Harden wins the MVP award.

Simmons wins ROY.

Minnesota and Denver will be fighting for the 8th seed in the West.

Golden State over Cleveland in the finals.

Cousins is traded this season.

Man I like this set of predictions. I'd sub Utah in for Denver and I think Drummond will top 40% though.

I'm going to predict Harris makes the AS game, Stanley gets 6th man of the year votes and our overall bench is top 5 in the NBA

Pistons are 2 or 3 seed winning 50+ games and make the ECF

Drummond shoots exactly 43%

Boston finds no takers for their draft picks

Utah is surprise 2 seed in West

Golden State wins championship

SVG coach of the year

All of this looks pretty good to me.

The Harden prediction, love it.

I really hope CLE implodes somehow.

The rookie class had their orientation recently.  They vote on a bunch of different things, one of them is who they think will win ROY.  They picked Dunn, Ingram, and Simmons in that order.

They also voted on who will have the best career.  Ingram #1 with Dunn 2nd.

I was thinking Dunn for ROY too, but couldn't remember his name and was to last to google it

LBJ's regular season numbers will dip this year, PER in the 23 range and 3pt shooting in the low, low 30s.

Kyrie gets hurt this season and misses substantial time, making everyone wonder what could have happened this season for the Cavs if he played in at least half the games.

Draymond continues to be a distraction for GSW, minutes and production go down.

Giannis makes an ALL-NBA team, All-Star team.

Philly wins at least 30 games.

Orlando wins 40 games and threatens for the 8th playoff spot thanks to a deadline trade.

The nets fail to win 10 games.

Ish leads the Pistons in assists.

Ellenson gets more playing time than anyone thinks he will.

Jazz and Blazers both get home court in the first round of the playoffs.

Clippers shake things up with their roster, trade either Paul or Griffin to Boston, Philly, Orlando or CLE.

The Lakers win 40 games--Thanks Kobe!

Pop misses Duncan so much that needs to trade for Either Cousins or Unibrow before the trade deadline.  He includes Leonard if he has to get it done.

I don't know anything about either player, but I took Simmons over Dunn in ROY just based on touches.

Dunn will come after KAT, Wiggins, and Lavine.  He wont even start this year unless they trade Rubio.

Not only will Simmons start, but Brown has already said he will play some PG.  He should be option 1A or 1B with Okafor on offense so he will get the chance to put up the numbers.

If Jordan Mickey gets minutes, or isn't sent as a pot sweetener in a big trade, he'll be one of the best defensive forwards in the NBA and have a DRtg of 100, give or take a point.

Jordan Mickey, with any kind of playing time, turns in a DRtg of 100--give or take a point.

Pistons get a top 4 seed.

Stanley averages 12+ppg

Drummond shoots 45%+ from the line.

Reggie shoots 40% from 3s.

My non Piston prediction is Dame wins the MVP.

I like the Dame pick.

Curious to see how he continues to develop. Curry was a better shooter and more efficient, but through their first four years their numbers are pretty similar.
