Live animated map showing air quality around the world.

Obviously bad around the fires on the west coast.  But at least currently we are a bit lucky the smoke is blowing back out over the ocean.

I had 384 last night per https://aqi.wtf/ (purpleair data) and have been sitting in at least the mid 200s since whenever the smoke came back (Tue/Wed).

actually, it's been coming back to land, at least the stuff near the coast. eastern Oregon was largely clear this morning, and now it's almost totally smoked over.

I live in Eugene and my house is between two sensors running a range from low 400s to low 500s. 😳

I believe it. I hope you've got AC and good filters/purifiers.

Yeah, I work remote, have AC. I gave one purifier to my girlfriend, but am still covered for myself. I cleaned the prefilter on one last night. That was alarming. Waiting for the wind to shift (maybe Monday). But compared to lots of others, including folks not more than a dozen miles away, I’ve got it good. Unfortunately, none of the fires in Oregon are really contained to any significant degree. It is kind of like COVID, realizing that there will be a new “normal” and that it’s messed up.

Yeah. Things should start to change pretty soon. Only a few more days of this hopefully. There will still be fires of course but the air quality should start improving.

The rainy season is coming but not soon enough. The GFS shows Oregon getting some rain on and off throughout this coming week. That should help a lot as long as there is no lightning.

I hear ya. this year can't end soon enough.

my AQI is 350 this afternoon. I had my purifier on medium/"general clean" overnight but I could still smell smoke when I came out of my bedroom, where there's no purifier. bedroom door was closed overnight.

Taco Bell label wine?

Quote

Jalapeño Noir—Taco Bell Releases Custom Wine

What should you pair with your cheesy crunch wrap?

The guesswork is over. Taco Bell has announced it is debuting its own wine, dubbed Jalapeño Noir.

The wine will pair with Taco Bell’s just-released Toasted Cheesy Chalupa. As stated in a release, "the rich taste and crunchy texture of the beloved Toasted Cheesy Chalupa complements notes of wild strawberry, cherry and beetroot in this silky limited-edition red wine."

The Toasted Cheesy Chalupa just launched in Canada, and will be joining menus in the U.S. in November. No news on whether the wine will be hitting Taco Bells in the states.

The Jalapeño Noir is made locally at Queenston Mile Vineyard, a local Ontario vineyard. (Ontario has a thriving wine scene, with wineries in Niagara and Prince Edward County starting to receive international recognition.)

Three different ‘collector’s edition’ labels are available.

The wine will be available in some Taco Bell locations in Toronto and Hamilton, or via Taco Bell Canada’s website. Bottles cost $25 Canadian (roughly $20 USD).

“Wine and cheese are simply meant to be together, so launching a new wine to go with the craveable, cheddary Toasted Cheesy Chalupa made perfect sense,” said Kat Garcia, Taco Bell’s director of brand marketing in a statement. “At Taco Bell Canada, we love to raise our glass to big, bold ideas that elevate our menu items, and pairing our Toasted Cheesy Chalupa with this Jalapeño Noir is no exception.”

NOT JOKING ABOUT THIS...........

This morning right before I woke up I had a dream that Rick James & I (yes, THAT Rick James, so you already know this is weird)..........were in a backyard and we had a sword and we were taking turns slicing things like pine cones and one of us (I can't remember who) sliced through a bee hive by mistake and we got attacked by bees................I can't tell you what was said in the dream, but when I woke up I was startled and looking around to see if any bees were around.                 I usually don't remember dreams, but how could I forget this one.
