We've given Stafford enough time to prove himself. He is nothing more than a backup QB at best.

That is wrong. He's extremely talented.

Stafford is most likely done here. I also believe he will go to another team and be very successful.

If Stafford does go, and the Lions take the sparty qb in the 1st round. Then expect the same thing we are experiencing now. The new management has to build the lines. Also hire a coach who has never been fired and is not a rookie HC.

Who the heck meets that criteria?!

Bilcheck-- fired

Tomlin--Rookie Head coach

Coughlin -- Fired

Harbaugh -- rookie head coach

Trade Stafford, acquire a 1st round + some from the trade; 2nd and a 3rd most likely. Trade your high 1st pick back to a mid 1st pick and add more picks. Take one of your two 1sts and draft Connor Cook. Get a left tackle with the other 1st and rebuild the defensive line and secondary, maybe find a wideout to groom with your multiple 2nds.

Ok, that was more than enough time to throw the ball. Stafford has to get rid of it.

God do I hate the trade back just to trade back strategy. Second-rounders aren't often very good. Only a handful ever make a pro bowl. Look at 2010 draft, 32 second round picks - 6 pro bowlers. If you want to sit there and say, but a lot of really good starters come out of that round 2. Same year: Toby Gerhart, Javier Arenas, Torrell Troup, Jimmy Claussen, Taylor Mays and Pat Angerer are some of the many failed NLF players from that same draft. (BTW 2011 draft has three second round pro bowlers, 2009 had five)

Where as drafting in the top 10 seems to have a pretty good rate of pro bowlers (2010 had 7, 2011 had 8, 2009 had 2, 2008 had 3 and 2012 had 4).

So by trading back you've greatly decreased what seems to be a pretty good rate of finding a good player for a hope and a prayer that a team that hasn't drafted well for 60 years will find one of the five of pro bowlers in the second round at the same time getting a crappier player in round 1.
