Do you know what is wrong with modern day baseball? No one is nicknamed "Goose".

Yup.

But look at that hat. I don't know what to make of it. It certainly is not as bad as a Rodney tilt, not as bad as ironing it like Anthony Reyes (remember that guy from 2006?).

It is odd to see names like Gordon Cochrane or Gerald Walker or Lynwood Rowe instead of their commonly used nicknames.

By my count, 8 of the players shown there were commonly known by something other than their given first name, and that doesn't include derivations of first names like Hank Greenberg, Marv Owen, Billy Rogell and Heinie Schuble.

Baseball would benefit from having players known as Flea and Schoolboy.
