Today's Tiger birthdays

He did? I thought that was Kruk.

Hamelin abruptly quit his professional baseball career while playing in the minor leagues for the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers AAA Team) in 1999. After grounding out, he went back to the dugout and told manager Gene Roof, "I'm done", ending his professional baseball career as a player.[1]

Pat Sheridan was one of the guest speakers at a baseball clinic that I went to that major league pitcher Bill Laskey headlined at his alma mater in Toledo.

He did? I thought that was Kruk.
Moving to the American League to serve as a designated hitter, Kruk signed with the Chicago White Sox, batting .308/.399/.390. On July 30, 1995, in a game at Baltimore's Camden Yards stadium, Kruk singled and retired standing on first base, taking himself out of the game never to play again.[5]

Kruk did it in style. Hamelin had to go pay for a pizza that was delivered.

Horton says that when they were in high school everyone was afraid of Alex Johnson.

Chico Ruiz was not afraid of him.

Brian Schmack is not on LinkedIn.

And why is he sitting on a stool, showing the 4-seam grip, in front of some cheesy photo studio backdrop?

Because that's what Getty Images has of Brian Schmack on photo day. No card company bothered to make a card for a guy who appeared in 11 games for the worst team in AL history.

Jack Feller caught one inning as a defensive replacement on September 13, 1958. He did not have an at-bat, although he did get to catch future Hall-of-Famer Jim Bunning. That was the entirety of his MLB career.
