Ernie pronounced "Rakow" "Rocco".  I wonder if that was correct?  Ernie did have a few idiosyncratic pronunciations.

Today's Tiger birthdays (5/31): None.  Not a one.  In their 119-year history, the Tigers have never fielded a player, coach, or manager born on May 31.  In fact, beside February 29, May 31 has the fewest MLB birthdays of any day of the year.

I don't know - I think that I knew about Holdsworth at the time that he was called up, that he was younger than I was.  BoomGaspar could do it - arrange his DOB data so that, for a fee, he could search your date of birth against it.

Saw Doherty pitch in Fenway in 1992. We saw the Tigers play the Sox on a Saturday evening in September. He faced Frank Viola that evening. Both teams were trying to stay out of the East Division basement. Fun trip to Fenway.
