If his baseball reference page is any indicator, Hare would likely opt with the unlogoed cap if elected to the hall of fame.

Today's Tiger birthdays (3/27): Mike Dalton (56).

4 games in MLB.  That's it.  Well, that's 4 more games than you and I combined.

The highlight of his career had to be Saturday, June 15, 1991.  He entered into the road game in the bottom of the 6th and finished out the blowout loss for the Tigers in Seattle.  Detroit pulled 1B Cecil Fielder from the game and moved DH Mickey Tettleton to 1B, so there was a chance for the Tiger pitchers to hit in the 4th spot.  However 9th place hitter Milt Cuyler mercifully ended the game for the Tigers, and so ended the hitting career of Michael Edward Dalton.

Today Mike runs a food mart, Mikie’s Stop and Shop, in Novi. The only food mart in the area that offers pickled buffalo balls in the deli.

I was going to post something like this but was afraid it would come off as partisan.   It was a dark day in Tiger history.

My "Yes, I'm a complete dork" personal trivia.   For all four years that Keith Appling played point guard for Michigan State my personal nickname for him was "Luke".

Today's Tiger birthdays (4/5): None.  Not a one.  In their 119-year history, the Tigers have never fielded a player, coach, or manager born on April 5.
