There's George Lombard, a 30/30 threat from the Braves' system, and yet take a look at that card - Garner's got him bunting.  Jesus I hate this team.

Lombard is the 1st base coach for the Dodgers now.  I remember seeing him this season, but to consult with wikipedia to see if it had the info on him.

And now on bbref I see he was traded for Kris Keller.  Yes, this Kris Keller.  What, you don't remember Keller's one and only IP in the majors in 2002?  Neither do I.

Today is also the 71st birthday of pitcher Roric Harrison, who appears on a rather poorly airbrushed 1978 Topps card as a Tiger despite never playing in a game for the team.  Harrison pitched for the Evansville Triplets, the Tigers' AAA affiliate in 1977 and got a look in spring training of '78 but failed to make the team's opening day roster.  He was cut, signed with the Minnesota Twins, and was done with organized baseball after the season.

I have recently completed reading the book, 'Cobb Would Have Caught It.' Seeing the pictures of the guys on this thread really gets the nostalgia thing going. Would suggest every Tiger fan read the book. It is a library of forever memories about the game and the players that played for the Tigers.

I miss a lot about the past nowadays.
