Today's Tiger birthdays

A few related points...

  • Last year at this time, I offered 1000 points to anyone who could produce an image of Bob Scanlan (8 games in 1996) or John Moses (13 games in 1991) with the Tigers.  No one collected.  This year, to drum up interest, I offer 2000 7/8 points for the combination, or, in a special one time offer, 1501 for either single player.
  • John Moses (b. 1957 in Los Angeles, CA) and Jerry Moses (b. 1946 in Yazoo City, MS) are not related.
  • Finally, today is also the 58th birthday of former Cardinals, Brewers, and Phillies bench player Jim Adduci, otherwise known as the father of Tigers legend Jim Adduci, otherwise known as "The Deuce."

Sorry, I only have a picture of him as QB of the Broncos.

Both George Susce (the father) and George Susce (the son) played for the Tigers.  This is George Susce the father.  George Susce the son is NOT George Susce Jr. - he and his father have different middle names.

Bob Fathergill was much more commonly known as Fats Fothergill.

In general people were skinnier back in the 20's and 30's.

Baby Doll Jackson does not appreciate your history lesson.  And really finds the tone with which you say "Baby Doll" condescending.

Baby Doll liked to start people off with a punch in the face when he was introduced to them.

It's too bad he never met Roger Cedeno.

He's on the list.  Mark Redman too.
