Somewhat OT: Watching RW live

Recommended Posts

I cut the TV cable cord due to the constant increasing cost every year and use an antennas for local stations. The only thing I'll miss is watching the Wings games, unless I can find an alternative somehow, which right now, is visiting a local bar and I really don't want to do that.

Anyone care to suggest ideas to how or what I can do to watch the live games this coming season and beyond?

Thank you

The official NHL GameCenter is good quality for PC watching, with CentreIce it's TV equivalent. Pricey though, more expensive than MLB At Bat.

You can listen to games on your PC by going to detroitredwings.com where they have a direct link to the home radio broadcast. On mobile, the NHL app is approx $20 per season and includes home and away radio broadcasts and in-game video highlights.

As a last resort, I knew I could easily listen on local radio or radio internet, but watching is always better. I'll try the hockey streams.

Thank you very much.

Ha ha, yeah, let's not post stuff about "black market" streaming sites in the forums. We don't need the NHL legal team on our ***.

I was thinking about getting rid of cable altogether and getting the online packages for the various leagues. It it definitely cheaper in the long run.

I only care about the NHL but paying for the NHL package still wouldn't allow me to view the Wings because I live in the area and its blacked out.

If I lived anywhere but the Detroit blacked out area, I would do this in a minute.

When it boils down to it, my TV watching is roughly 98% sports, and of that, 98% of it is Detroit sports. I don't care about watching the Panthers play the Coyotes or the Mets play the Padres.

If I could only get the Wings and Tigers on my TV and nothing else while saving $10 a month, I'd do it.

Is there anything in the GameCenter TOS about using a proxy while accessing their service?

IF YOU CIRCUMVENT OR ATTEMPT TO CIRCUMVENT ANY BLACKOUT RESTRICTION OR OTHER USE RESTRICTION: YOUR SUBSCRIPTION WILL BE SUBJECT TO IMMEDIATE TERMINATION AND A CHARGE OF ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) FOR EARLY TERMINATION WILL BE APPLIED TO YOUR CREDIT CARD; YOU MAY BE SUBJECT TO LEGAL ACTION; AND THE NHL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REPORT SUCH MISCONDUCT TO APPROPRIATE LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES.

I know I certainly would never violate that part of the terms and conditions
