Yeah it is enjoyable.   I have to read up on the Easter eggs as there are comic references. Paul Bettany was great when he was “drunk”.

Yeah I'm enjoying WandaVision thus far, they really nailed the stereotypical 50s and 60s sitcom acting and presentation.   I'm curious to see where this fits in the MCU timeline though.

Lonestar 911 is a pretty bad show.  But I had to tune in to see Rob Lowe and Lisa Edelstein back together.  I was bummed when Laurie disappeared from WW.  Her and Sam should have had an ongoing thing.

episode 4 of Wandavision was really good... if you've been turned off or not into it after the first few give it a shot.... don't want to give anything away but episode 4 is where it ties it together and you "get it".

I take it this is exclusive to Disney Plus?

If you are a Verizon customer they were offering one year free. Not sure if they still do or have deals with other providers.

Ha!

As I've gleefully progressed into "old man yelling at kids to get off my lawn", I would find myself enjoying Statler and Waldorf much more than previous viewings.

I have Prime, Hulu and we had Apple TV and we barely watch any of them. In fact I don't even know that we watched anything on Apple TV when we had it for a year free.

My kids watch "My Hero Academia" on Hulu but that's really it. Our TVs get more use out of youtube.

Sneaky Pete

Started this a few months ago.  Considering it is a season long type con...I was expecting more in the payoff at the end of the first season.  It was good enough for a 2nd season...and while I like Ribissi, I do not really know him from many things.  I recall him from Saving Private Ryan mostly, but he seems to play the same type of character.

Hunter sounds good, I think I am going to have to check it out.

He was good in Boiler Room.

Is there anything funny I should be watching? I'm growing tired of all the serious shows and need something a little lighter (other than WandaVision, which I am enjoying greatly). I already rewatched Community and Arrested Development on Netflix, and almost done with Pen15 and Brockmire on Hulu. I restarted Futurama last night, but wondered if there was something more current I'm missing. I have DirecTV and most of the streaming services.

I am a big fan of Black Mirror on Netflix.  Just read that the creator of the show, Charlie Booker, is not writing anything for a season 6 yet because the world is in such a dark place that he can't do it.  He's trying to write lighter material that would not be a fit for the series.   Another thing Donald Trump has ruined.

So far Wandavision is nothing like what I expected, someone said episode 4 ties in what is going on.  Watched the first 20 minutes or so of the first episode.  I can guess the payoff in the end will be pretty fantastic.  "What do we actually DO here?"

yeah stick with it.... just enjoy the first 3 as tributes to the sitcoms we watched.   Without giving anything away episode 4 will tie it all up and you see what's going on.   Everything in a Marvel movie or show is carefully chosen, from wardrobe, dialog, set pieces.... there are no accidents.

The funny thing is that I was sad about the lack of sitcom stuff in ep 4.  I did enjoy the scientist watching the broadcasts with the same "WTF is happening" attitude that the audience has been experiencing.

https://www.imdb.com/golden-globes/nominations/

I don't know how Better Call Saul didn't get a nomination outside of Odenkirk.  I watched all those series  except Lovecraft County and to me BCS is was far and away better than them all, also thought the dude playing Lalo should have gotten a supporting nod and Rhea Seahorn supporting actress nod.

I don't know what it is about that show.   To me the biggest snub in history is Michael McKeon for the Chicanery episode a couple years ago (actors are nominated for single episodes).  He was just so brilliant in that episode. He made you hate him and feel sorry for him in the span of about 30 seconds and this was the same guy who played Lenny in Laverne & Shirley and David St. Hubbins in Spinal Tap - playing such a humorless character, based his comic chops, was so good.      Rhea is a force on that show and she's never been nominated.  Maybe the voters feel like Vince Gilligan has won enough, but this show is almost as good as Breaking Bad and Breaking Bad was (to me) the best show ever.    Odenkirk should win an Emmy too, he does walk a tight rope in most episodes and he's one of the most underrated actors around.

If you don't have HBO, I believe the Barry series can be purchased now.   It's soooo good.   Henry Winkler, Anthony Carrigan and Stephen Root get all the funny lines while Bill Hader plays the straight character (and he's great, like Odenkirk).  Winkler won an Emmy last year (totally deserved) and I was disappointed to see Root (another underappreciated guy) not get a nomination.

Speaking of underrated performances - Gary Cole is always really  really good.   I know the Brady Bunch movies aren't award material, but his Mike Brady impression was..............he nailed it.   He was also really good in A Simple Plan.

Anybody watching “Resident Alien” on SYFY?

Just 3 episodes so far.   It’s a hoot.

 I think I love it. 😁❤️
