Not sure how I feel about Veep now that Selena isn't in politics.

I don't like the group being spread around the country doing different jobs.

I still laughed last night so maybe I'm wrong.

I was only able to watch the first few minutes, but so far it seems to be hitting all of the same notes that make it so great.

I think the show can be just as funny with her as a celebrity former president as it was with her being involved directly in politics.

I wonder whether they have something in the works that will ultimately get the group working together or directly against each other. Each character is so good, though, that even if they are off doing their own thing, it could still work.

That premier of Veep was a clinic on comedic script writing. Just one great line after another.

Two questions about Fargo.............

1. Can Ewan McGregor pull off a reasonable Minnesota accent?

2. Can Ewan McGregor pull off a reasonable Minnesota accent?

I guess we'll see.   Can't wait.   2 brilliant seasons so far.

No philosophical bad guy like Billy Bob Thornton or Bokeem Woodbine yet.    A slow start to the series, but the first two seasons started slow as the established routines of the characters.

I'm curious to see if Ewan McGregor can pull off a reasonable Minnesota accent.

Well, that will only happen if Ewen can pull off a reasonable Minnesota accent.

Or if he can even pull off a reasonable Minnesota accent too.

Well, I gotta be honest with you.

I thought both Ewan McGregor AND Ewan McGregor may have overdone the accent a bit.   The pudgy bald Ewan McGregor was more subtle than the successful Ewan McGregor, but it might have been overdone - by several actors - and it did get a bit annoying.      Martin Freeman, Patrick Wilson, Ted Danson and Jesse Plemons did a better job with it.

My wife and I said about the exact same after watching it

I thought it was part of the character with the successful brother. An overdone, faux folksiness.

Wow.........as someone who has watched plenty of mob movies, and Tarantino movies completely unfazed,  the 13th episode of 13 Reasons Why may have been the most brutal thing I have ever watched..........and you know the scene I'm talking about.  That was pretty soul-crushing, even knowing what was going to happen.

Yeah, not easy to watch. I kind of regret watching the series, in hindsight.

Pretty much. But I think it was a pretty important episode and a lot of people probably need to watch it. I have no problem with how graphic they made it. Really hard to watch, but I'm glad they did it.

Yeah, my feeling too.  Hard as it was to watch, I think the needed to show it's brutality.   I've seen other films/tv shows where characters kill themselves (not a spoiler, it's the plot from the start of the first episode) but it's usually something that you don't see (all apologies to Warden Norton from Shawshank, nobody mourns for you).

A lot of people are criticizing this show for how graphic it was but it hits harder that way.   "Requiem For A Dream" is a film about drug addiction that pulls no punches - it his like a sledgehammer - and it shakes you up and it's the strongest anti-drug movie I have ever seen.

Actually, I'm enjoying Shades of Blue on NBC.

You and my wife would get along fine. There has practically never been a cop show she won't watch.
