I'd love picking Perriman.

It would be interesting. Its not what I want personally. It would have to be in preparation for Calvin to be gone next year I'd think.

The best news for the Lions is if one of Gurley or Gordon falls to pick 23..... then a trade to Dallas is very possible with us getting Dallas #1 and a #3 or #1, #4 and #5,

This is a deep mid round kind of Draft where we could pick up a lot of cheap depth rotational players.

Best case scenario really. Either trade would be sufficient.

I know some here want Gurley if he drops to the Lions and I get it, he's a gamebreaker, but they have so many holes all over the roster (it's quite scary actually especially on the lines) that if they get an opportunity to add more picks, they need to jump on that opportunity.

If Dallas is moving up for a RB, then they will likely trade higher than 23.

This is assuming that Gurley is still on the board when the Lions are due to pick and them knowing that the Lions have a need for a RB and could very well take Gurley.

It's a longshot, more of a discussion point than anything.

Does anyone have any inside information on Gordon and the Lions? Is he just a fan of the Lions or did the Lions tell him they would try to draft him at some point if he is available?

Yah, its more likely we trade with someone who wants to move in front of Dallas actually. I don't think Dallas will target a 1st round RB myself though. That OL is too good and that D is too bad

So ww

Hats the consensus for biggest position of need? CB or RB? DT?

I think our top 4 needs are pretty equal. You might argue DT due to the losses and the fact that both our current starters are FAs at the end of the year.

I don't think we have all that many holes, especially considering we likely sign at least one veteran OL eventually.

So let the draft come to us. See who might fall and take them?

There are probably more DT's in this draft' date=' projected at all rounds of the draft, that I'd be happier with than any other position.[/quote']

Understandable. I like guys all the way through round 3 with a few sleepers later on.

Got a feeling Gordon is gonna be a Lion. I was thinking Gurley would go top 10, but have cooled off on than. Think he goes to Miami or San Diego which pushes Gordon down to us.

O-Line depth is poor and the starters all have question marks, young group. Good upside though.

No depth on the defensive line, need an edge rusher opposite of Ansah and even Ansah is inconsistent, defensive tackle has gone from a strength to a relative weakness with razor thin depth.

Weak at cornerback still, don't know how long Mathis will hold up.

Obvious need at running back and still fairly thin at receiver.

The positions where they are ok is at QB although if Stafford went down, YIKES. Linebacker they look great and at safety, they are in pretty good shape.

It all boils down to how Stafford performs, but the roster as a whole looks pretty mediocre. This is why I'm not opposed to a trade down, they really need to fill out depth at a lot of positions and don't have a ton of picks to do it.

If Gurley makes it past Miami I'd be shocked.

Pleantly so.

I've been saying that's his floor for a while now

I was thinking it too, but man he seems to be moving up the boards(or we are becoming aware of it at least)

Not interested in Boykin. I'm not saying he isn't an upgrade, but I don't want to give an asset for him and I think at this point we need to see what the Wilson/Lawson/Bentley group can do with the nickel role.

I don't see a WR in the first 3 rounds, but I think they'll legitimately go BPA. I'd love to grab the Georgia Tech kid late,or maybe George Farmer from USC. Raw talents to develop. Or if they can find a Kenny Stills type, so be it.

Yahoo's final mock draft has 3 dudes making picks. The 3 picks for the Lions in the first round at #23 are OT DJ Humphries, OT Andrus Peat, and DT Malcom Brown. I would be happy with any of the three.

Here is final mock:
