He's interesting. I'd be happy if we took him' date=' I just don't know how we view his skill set.[/quote']

He's falling down draft boards supposedly. Character concerns. Great athlete.

What about randy gregory?

If you want to throw him into the potential sliders group, that makes some sense. I don't think he'll land here and Mayhew has seemiingly avoided bad character guys since our previous disasters in that department, but his talent intrigues the hell out of me at 23.

The best news for the Lions is if one of Gurley or Gordon falls to pick 23..... then a trade to Dallas is very possible with us getting Dallas #1 and a #3 or #1, #4 and #5,

This is a deep mid round kind of Draft where we could pick up a lot of cheap depth rotational players.

I'm looking for a CB in the first round, DL in the second, OL in the third, RB in the 4th, 2 CMU players in the 5th KR/PR in the 6th and a FB in the 7th.

I'd jump on that deal with the Cowboys.

I'd rather have Gurley.

Same here.

And that's aside from the fact that the cost to trade up a few spots late in the 1st is NOT a 3rd rounder or a 4th AND a 5th. At least I don't think it is. Check earlier year trades at the back end of the 1st for a comparison. I just read that Millen did our last late 1st round trade-back, getting us a 5th rounder and a 10-spot move up in the 3rd. Take that for what you will... (meaning to anyone; this isn't directed specifically at Norman...)

I think we get a 4th rounder from Dallas in a trade-back and that's about it.

I'd definitely be ok with getting Dallas over a barrel

The cost is whatever someone will give up. If Dallas wants Gordon bad enough(won't be Gurley), they'll won't buck over the difference between a 3rd and a 4th IMO.

I'd make that trade and take RB in the 2nd. I'm a big fan of Coleman,Ajayi and Duke Johnson. The only reason I'm not all in on Ajayi is I heard a report about him being flagged over a knee

But even if it was the Cowboy's 3rd' date=' I wouldn't take it.

You get draft picks to take players. I'd rather have the talent here.[/quote']

Eh, we have 4 holes and its a deep draft. Having 4 picks in the top 100 would be ideal to me. 27 we are probably looking CB or OL, RB in the 2nd. Then you have a lot of options in the 3rd at G,CB or DT.

It would depend on who's on the board.

If we're looking at the difference between a top 5 talent and a player 20-25, I'd rather have Gurley than the 3rd. If we're talking about a few more top talents on the board - go for it.

Yeah.

IE: If Gurley is already taken and the available players are Gordon, Shelton, Brown, and La'el Collins... I definitely take the trade-down (go ahead and get Gordon, Dallas!!!), and take whoever is remaining outta that group...

Watching g ESPN and Melvin Gordon was wearing a Lions hat during his lil predraft segment.

Apparently he just liked how it looks, he was asked about it.

Thanks. Was wondering.

I think he had a Cowboys shirt on for some interview last week too haha. Must be a silver/blue kind of guy.

Dallas needs a rb and so do we. Smart kid. ;)

I think the knock on him is fumbleitis Iirc.

I think you're thinking of Abdullah.

Edit: Yes, he had 7 fumbles, 6 lost. That's too many.

Sure seems like a lot. Didn't know the actually number till you posted it. Fumble lost every other game?

Abdullah's fumble problems scare the hell out of me. We've had both Bush and Bell put the ball on the carpet a bit too much. If we're drafting a RB, I'd pass on Abdullah. Jay Ajayi, Tevin Coleman, Duke Johnson and T.J. Yeldon in that order.

Matt Dery had a Lions draft round-table with Kyle Meinke (beat writer at MLive) and Brad Galli (sports director at Channel 7) and he kept half-jokingly teasing that the Lions would select WR Brashad Perriman. Now, he likely intended it as a joke, but was selling it with some level of seriousness where you can't help but have sit in the back of your mind. I'm probably a fool for even thinking that. However, is that scenario, them taking a wideout, Perriman at #23, even remotely possible? If, IF they happened to pick him, would you react with anger, frustration, bewilderment, excitement, what?

That's my order as well, assuming we clear Ajayi medically
