GDT: Michigan at Rutgers 10/4/2014

Recommended Posts

I do like Hoke, I really do. This is really too much. He's gotta go.

Ha - Rutgers tearing down the goal posts, or at least trying to, like beating this Michigan team is something to celebrate. Wow.

not trolling, I was serious.

I know. I'm not serious either. How can any Michigan fan take anything seriously anymore?

life is over.

I think hoke will be fired. He has to be- this isn't working. Brandon might be based on the product on the field and his PR nuclear bomb last week.

Funchess also said they don't need a win next week. Wins and losses are a "statistic."

That's what you want to hear.

ugh...why wasn't that an NCAA catch? I would think maybe not an NFL catch...but sheesh

these catch rules just make no sense - NCAA and NFL PTB thinking way to much at levels above their mental qualifications. If two steps doesn't make a receiver a runner, then what other accomplishment ever rationally could?

They also let Rutgers run off an extra 25 seconds after the false start, but, I'll just take it as the referees trying to help Michigan rid itself of Hoke.

It's hard not to think that a win in a game where the team showed little if any improvement might have been a bad thing

the only thing that bothers me about that is that unless there is a dramatic leadership change, the pain of losing will continue.

Right, Rutgers was favored by 3 so Michigan beat the spread.

The catch that was ruled incomplete was the worst call I have seen since Calvin Johnson.

It would have been 1st and 10 at the 30 with 3 minutes left to play.

Michigan wasted 2 timeouts by challenging the play.

I have no idea how that is incomplete when the Rutgers player who seemingly dragged a phantom toe on the sidelines was awarded a catch earlier.

They seem to need trainers and docs more than coaches and ADs, got shredded in the secondary on a night with two starters down to injury, and a true freshman starting on the O-Line.

That one was clearly a catch, he got the foot down for sure.

As for the UM catch, what does the rule actually say? In the NFL that definitely isn't a catch, seems like the NCAA rule is similar.

I'm not sure they are similar. I don't think there is a "process" if the guy catches the ball and takes two steps.

Only reason I said that is because the refs came back with confirmed. That threw me off really, I thought they would rule it a catch.

I think the TV announcers had it right, if that happened in the middle of the field, it would obviously have been a catch or a fumble, not an incomplete pass.

The fact that he was going out of bounds should have been irrelevant.
