All 87 Led Zeppelin Songs, Ranked | SPIN

My thoughts:

Songs that could be ranked higher.

Hot Dog

South Bound Suarez

The Girl I Love She Got Long Black Wavy Hair

How Many More Times

Thank You (Way higher.... a great song)

Bring it on Home

Since I've been loving you (Should be top ten)

The Rover

Bron-Y-Aur Stomp

Songs that could be lower

When the levee breaks (just never a big fan of the song for some reason, relative to their others)

Misty Mountain Hop

Immigrant Song (A lot lower)

Communication Breakdown

D'yer Maker

The one song they got very right? Ten Years Gone. As soon as I saw the list I hoped it was top ten.

The highest ranked Presence song is Achilles Last Stand? And at #17? And Nobody's Fault But Mine is #33, even with a 100% positive overview of the song?

Rubbish, indeed.

I would put these songs higher (**personal favorites):

The Rover**

No Quarter**

Custard Pie

Bring it on home**

Out on the Tiles**

Celebration Day

In My Time of Dying**

I would put these songs lower:

Fool in the Rain

Misty Mountain Hop

Immigrant Song (bleh)

That's the Way (preachy BS)

This thread made me go listen to a few of their songs that I haven't heard in ages. Ended up listening to all kinds of music this morning. Which is rare for me. I hardly listen to music anymore at all.

Given that Good Times, Bad Times is one of my favorite tunes by any band, I think it's too low.

I did some of that last night, too, mostly "Over the Hills...", which I for some reason hadn't listened to in probably a couple years. I, too, hardly listen to music any more. Used to not be able to function at work without it. Now it's just distracting.

The intro to that song is probably about 90% of the reason I bought my 12-string guitar. "Tangerine" is most of the rest.

Same with me. I used to listen to music around the clock. Then, about 10 years ago, something clicked and that was all she wrote. I miss liking music.

In my opinion, all of the LZ2 tracks should be up towards the top. I'll never forget hearing that album on vinyl by a classic rock station in Myrtle Beach, SC around midnight while downing a beer or twelve...totally transformed how I heard the band.

"Gallows Pole" so low bothers me since the intro to that song is one of my favorites of all of their songs.

And the fact they separate "Living Loving Maid" from "Heartbreaker" is deplorable to me.

http://radio.foxnews.com/2014/11/09/robert-plant-rips-up-800-million-led-zeppelin-reunion-contract/

Allegedly Richard Branson offered them $800 million to tour. Based on the story not sure how the math adds up as it said Page, Plant, and Jones would have gotten $300 million a piece and BOnham a salary. Either way not surprising.

I say they lower the amount and find a Plant knock off since he can't sing anymore. Screw Plant. Plant and Page toured in the 90's, leaving Jonesy out of the mix (and playing No Quarter on their MTV Unpluggeg, an extra dagger to him). So Page and Jones can tour. I'd pay to see it.
