As I said, I thought that it was an obvious joke. It was posted on one of my friend's facebook to taunt her, as she is known for disliking how much Bachman embarrasses her state.

I lol'd......

I think its fair to point out that conservatives put forth legislation to end birthright citizenship almost every year, it just never gains any traction and never gets to a vote. Suddenly this has become a hot topic because of Trump, but the conservative view has long been that the 14th Amendment has been misinterpreted and was never intended to be a lottery ticket for illegals to birth their way into citizenship. There is a legal means to citizenship for non-residents.

I really want Jeb to go one day around in the Trump style. Mention how he has a lot of powerful family members including two ex presidents. Talk about how he went to University of Texas and has a Latin American studies degree. Talk about how people who don't actually support him, actually do secretly support him.

BTW, the Rhonda Rousey non-endorsement is particularly funny.

This is funny, just because it looks to be true.

"Jeb Bush is a low energy person. For him to get things done is hard. He's very low energy."

Later, taking questions from the audience, Trump said, "You know what is happening to Jeb's crowd right down the street? They're sleeping."

If anyone knows how things really work, Mr. Trump should watch his step with the Bush family.

I have long ago burned out on politics, but damn, if Trump actually got elected....I'd have the news channels on 24/7. It easily would be the most interesting reality TV ever.

Part of me really wants to see it happen.

And that is not funny, because I suspect it to be true.

Also, let's not forget El Chapo has reportedly put a bounty out on Trump. So the Bush family has cover.

No wonder Rand Paul has been silent this week. He's spent the last four days in Haiti doing free eye surgeries for people who can't afford it.

A pretty thorough analysis.

Could Hillary Clinton Lose the Nomination? | RealClearPolitics

For most of this election cycle, analysts operated under an assumption that the Democratic nomination wasn’t really Hillary Clinton’s to lose, because she couldn’t really lose it.

But two polls now show her support among Democrats falling below 50 percent, and another poll shows her behind Sen. Bernie Sanders in New Hampshire by an almost statistically significant amount. I don’t think many analysts would have predicted either of these things. I certainly wouldn’t have. Given this, I would be remiss if I didn’t re-evaluate my other preconceived notions about the race.

After reviewing the evidence, I’d still make Clinton the overwhelming favorite to win the Democratic nomination. I’d put her chances somewhere between 80 and 90 percent. This is in line with where most other analysts seem to place the race.

Even though Clinton’s chances of being the Democratic nominee have declined, I still think that she’s the overwhelming favorite, though my reasons differ from other analysts’ views. Before I give my own thoughts, it’s worth running through some of the other arguments floating around out there. This is an important exercise, because if you get the reasons that she’s likely to be the nominee wrong, you increase your chances of missing it when the odds turn against her.

Larry Nichols, who used to work for the Clintons once upon a time, and claims to have done their dirty work for them... says that Hillary falling back in the Democrat polling is all a ploy and none of this server/email stuff is going to stick. He basically says that the Clintons believe that you have to work for a position of being an underdog, so this is all a set-up. And that's why she didn't win in 2008, because she lead that race the whole time until Obama over took her and then it was too late... and she won't make that mistake again. Seems a little contrived to me, but who knows.

I think he is right about the email server. Nothing will stick there.

It should be enough that she kept all of her email blocked from thousands of FOIA requests. I realize she would have blocked those even if using a gov email account but that's not the point. It should be enough that she knew all of this information was blocked by the supposed independent investigation of Benghazi. It should be enough that to get through this she's cynically banking on the short attention span and general view of the stupidity of the people she wants to serve.

Georgette Washington she is not. She cannot tell the truth.

Trump is a piker compared to the Gores, the Bushes, the Clintons.

To be clear.

I think she did a lot wrong. I don't think any of it will stick.

Fascinating how much things have changed.

The GOP’s 35-Year Devolution on Immigration

On April 23, 1980, the two leading Republican candidates for president—and the two people who would occupy the White House for the next 12 years—were asked a debate question about illegal immigration. The first candidate, George H.W. Bush, expressed support for giving illegal-immigrant children the same social-welfare benefits as native-born Americans, then portrayed the issue as one fundamentally about prohibition rather than lawlessness: "[A]s we have kind of made illegal some kinds of labor that I'd like to see legal," Bush said, "we're creating a whole society of really honorable, decent, family-loving people that are in violation of the law."

Ronald Reagan, meanwhile, championed a version of open borders: "Rather than talking about putting up a fence, why don't we work out some recognition of our mutual problems? Make it possible for them to come here legally with a work permit, and then, while they're working and earning here, they'd pay taxes here. And when they want to go back, they can go back. They can cross. Open the borders both ways."

Thirty-five years later, that exchange (you can watch the video here) now reads like science fiction. Republican presidential candidates in 2015 are elbowing each other to see who can be the toughest against illegal (and often legal) immigrants. Donald Trump shot to the top of early primary polls after calling Mexican immigrants rapists and accusing the Mexican government of deliberately emptying its prisons into the U.S.; he then released a plan that would build a permanent border wall, triple the number of border cops, require every employer-employee contract to be vetted through a national database, end birthright citizenship, "impound" all remittance payments that are "derived from illegal wages," and institute a "pause" in the issuance of new green cards, for starters.
