Had one of these last night and thought of this thread.

It was delicious.

Interesting. Sounded good so I just went to it up and it appears "Spazzatura" means 'trash'....(?)

I usually get pepperoni & mushroom. Occasionally ham. Never been a fan of the Chicago-style or NY style. As far as chains go, I prefer Jet's - but I'd give almost anything for a slice from The Villa in my hometown. Maybe we exaggerate the stuff we liked as kids, but that was good stuff.

Over 100 posts and nobody mentioned Little Caesar's? Damn shame.

It's been mentioned in #70

I will say that the Little Caesar's Deep Dish isn't bad at all

No its not. But for me the $8 is worse than the $7.

I guess I'm the exception, but then I grew up with Chef Boyardee from the box. Sometimes mom would brown up some hamburger meat to put on top. LOL

But to be fair to her, we often lived places with very limited grocery choices and what was available had to be shelf stable because it was shipped from the US.

The Chef was my favorite when I was a kid, and still is today. Have some in the kitchen as we speak. The Boss "kicks it up a notch" of course, and we use a pizza stone. I love the sauce so much I drink it.

went to california pizza kitchen.... luckily we had a gift card. Pizzas were ok but not for the price. I also don't like it when they're 8". That's an in between size. I can eat one of those and still be hungry. Make it a 10 or 12 and let me have leftovers or be super full. Especially when they are flat bread and not as filling.

CPK is to pizza what new age religions are to an Old Testament angry God.

Haha! It is better when you can score some mozzarella, which she did when we were living stateside. It does make a decent crust too. Its been long enough that I can't comment on the sauce, though.

I'm reminded now of the time my grandparents found tortillas that were packaged in a can, and my parents' excitement when they opened that surprise package from the states. At that time (mid 60s) theme parties were fashionable, so they threw a Mexican themed party to share the taco bounty. LOL Some of our neighbors who had never been to the southwest had never had tacos before.

No option for green olives???

The poll function on MTS, only allows you 10 choices. Its one of the things I hope someone puts on the MTS wikipedia page under "Controversies"

Green olives are fine. Olives in general take the flavor in a distinct direction.

The spice of the sausage mixed with the tartness of the green olives topped with the heat of crushed red peppers is music in my mouth.

I would have thought that Vegas had somewhere with good pie. Plenty of individuals from the source ethnicity in that propinquity. I agree that you have to go baseline to evaluate pie. You can't get too many variable toppings to do the benchmarking.

You would think so. Problem is,it seems most of the places are trying to be Wolfgang Puck. Certainly on the strip. Now, don't get me wrong, I like those too and we have a couple places we go to just for that. We have a "Detroit" pizza right by us but we're more thin crust people.

By the way, I lived on the east side of Detroit in the mid sixties and every week, on bowling night, the folks got us "Volcano" pizza. I have fond memories but I don't know if it was actually good. Anybody know?

The search I did came up with a likely match...a place that still exists in Battle Creek or a pizza place in Jakarta, Indonesia.

That is my husband's pizza! I thought he was the only person on the planet who ordered them like that. It is pretty good, kind of salty and spicy.

The only good Pizza left, at least around here (SE M), is Jet's, which would be Chicago style.

Jet's is crap. It's ****** for Detroit Deep Dish, and can they get any more sugar in their sauce. Pizza sauce is not supposed to be sweet.

I think it was the one in Indonesia. Explains the delivery time. Actually, I think it was spelled "Vulcano" but it was a loooong time ago.

I just had Paisanos...for my DC co-MTSers. Real good, Sausage and Pepperoni, NY style.

It stars with mushrooms and then its about what you add to it. Any pizza meat is good with mushrooms as a twosome.

Whoever invented mild peppers deserves to be shot. They infect everything and its the only thing you taste. So gross. Jalapenos shouldn't go on pizza either.

Not a big onion fan on pizza, but I can live with it. They'd ideally be red at least though.

Love me a BBQ chicken pizza, a white pizza or a margherita for a nice change up.

Until you mentioned it in the other thread I had forgotten just how truly awful your taste of pizza is. Kudos, sir.

Pepperoni, bacon, onion and banana pepper. That is the way to go.

That is a good pizza right there.

Pizza is pretty good no matter what you top it with.

Cheese, pepperoni and anchovy is a nice combo for a change of pace.

Double pepperoni.

Pepperoni and mushroom.

It would be hard to come up with a topping combo I would hate. The only thing I am not a fan of is Pineapple.
