Max Bullough Suspended for Rose Bowl

Recommended Posts

Has anyone heard why? Beyond the vague "violation of team rules" I mean. I have to think that this is something much less forgivable than showing up late to a team meeting.

All kinds of rumors, but no one that knows anything is talking. Most credible rumor IMO is some kind of failed drug test as administered by the bowl system.

Alchohol related no doubt(?). I work with college students and if is one thing we are doing totally wrong raising children in the US it's getting them to adulthood without a really warped set of ideas about drinking. I don't know if there any aspect of college age socialization that is so different from a generation (or two!) ago.

You mean by telling children it's a harmful drug while enjoying cocktails in front of them, then handing them the keys to the liquor cabinet at the age of 21, or sending them off to the pub crawl known as college, without any training in how to properly imbibe socially? Is that the warped idea that you are talking about?

Could be. I tell you Shabba - I don't know what parents are doing today. I went through my yrs at UM back in the day and saw a lot of drinking and a lot of toking (drinking age was 18 in those days), but very, very few people ever to the point of stupid drunk or stoned hard, but it seems for a large percentage of the college freshmen I see now, the only socially approved use of alcohol seems to be to get blotto. As I said, I don't know what drives it, but we sure are doing it wrong.

We did our best to de-mystify/demythologize alcohol with ours (which I take is what you are talking about) - and probably would be castigated today for letting them drink wine with dinner as minors, but AFAIK, they made it through their 20s without any problems (at least that anyone has found out about!)

If you are at the MSU pep rally in downtown LA, please relay to the MC that he is perhaps the worst I have ever heard in my entire life. Thanks.

It seems like the truth isn't going to come out for a bit, if at all.

draft time, I bet.

Word on FB among some friends I have, is that it was improper agent contact. I don't know if it's anything more than conjecture, but it certainly fits.

I heard from a close family friend... failed drug test. Im sure it will all come out round NFL draft. No team will take him without knowing as taking kids with question marks rarely happens or it plummets stock.

Extremely high testosterone in a blood test is what I heard. The levels that only show up when illegal substances are used. Taylor Lewan wasn't there to threaten the person doing the drug test.

It's none of my business but I really want to know why from his mouth... no idea why I care cause I know it doesn't matter.

Pretty unlikely. Every player on the MSU and OSU travel rosters were administered mandatory drug tests prior to the BTCG. That's how Noah Spence got nabbed for ecstasy.
