Anyone see this yet?

The trailer for this movie (the one that hit the internet back in August) was probably the most exhilarating trailer I have ever seen.

If you go see this movie............go see it in IMAX. In 3D IMAX if you can.

I really only see well out of one eye and the old style red/blue 3D never worked for me. This new 3D kinda sorta worked for me until I saw this movie. It was spectacular. All that space debris, comin' at ya.....amazing stuff.

The story is really good too This movie will clean up on every single visual effect and sound editing & mixing Oscar and Sandra Bullock will probably win one too. Only two living people appear in the entire film. You hear some other voices here and there.

Very suspensful, and clausterphobic (despite being in space). Fun movie.

But seriously on the IMAX if you can..........

He was very emphatic about it...

So...I am going to the 7:00 showing...

I just checked our local IMAX 3d for this movie and in the evening you can reserve your seat. Charge for two is $44.50; concession extra. No thanks.

Good to see an original movie making so much noise. I'll probably go see this next week.

Concessions are probably just as much.

I'd skip their popcorn. Last visit I thought the two young guys behind us had sneaker foot odor until I realized it was the faux butter. Good side, I enjoyed "42" and I rediscovered Orange Crush. I do want to see this in 3D IMAX.......I'll check out a matinee. Got to find a bud though or I will feel like the old days at a porn theater.

Saw this Sunday. The first time I've ever seen a 3D movie. That, combined with a pretty good movie made it very enjoyable.

Sandra Bullock in boy shorts gave me ideas for further 3D fun in my mind.

Movie was ok... wasn't a huge fan.

3D / IMAX was cool.

I remember when we first got IMAX in London in the late 90s, the theatre/screen was absolutely huge (not sure if the screen size varies). Problem was, they only played boring documentaries that we would go watch on field trips. The most exciting ones were "super speedway" and the "thrill ride" one. If this movie was shown on a field trip, it would have been awesome. But for 17.99 I wasn't overly satisfied.

Also

Sandra Bullock in Blind Side, blonde and all done up. Hot.

Sandra Bullock in Gravity, short hair with no makeup. Gross.

I saw it yesterday and I guess you have to be a space honk or something..because it is a marvel IMO.

We have an I-Max within a few miles, but it was not showing there for some reason so we saw it on a regular movie screen. I was still astounded.

This movie is made for 3D. The effects were amazing. I actually jumped a couple times as space debri flew out towards the sceen.

The movie isn't a masterpiece as some claim (IMO), but seeing it in 3D definitely made it enjoyable.

I'm a total space/NASA geek and I absolutely loved every second of the movie. I thought Bullock was fantastic and the visuals were just stunning. I typically hate 3D movies, but even that seemed perfectly executed in this movie.

To my astonishment my completely NOT interested in space fiancee also thought it was a really good movie. She also thought it was intense, beautiful, and enjoyable.

In the case of this subject matter the two of us could not be coming from more opposite sides of the spectrum. And we both enjoyed it a lot. I probably liked it more than she did, but still it's saying something that she did still enjoy the movie.

The wife and I always discuss the movie in the car on the way home...at least a little...she is not a huge movie buff...I could go to the movies every day. I love the atmosphere, the previews etc etc. We usually get to the theater an hour early to be the first there and just sit and relax and wait for the movie...watch the trivia etc. Movies are magical IMO.

I know for a fact at first she hated the movie and was kind of like 'that was dumb', but when she asked me first how I liked it she started to change her tune. I gave it 9 out of 10 in general terms of a movie....as far as a 'space' movie it gets 10 out of 10.

Space is relegated to Aliens and Mars missions etc....I LOVE all those movies as well....this one was a simple story, with amazing cinematography...simply about space. It FELT very realistic...this was seeing it on a flat screen...3D I-Max? Forget about it....I am sure it was amazing like that.

Then go again and see it that way, it's worth the $16 ticket on that huge screen.

It was an awesome movie...

The special effects and 3D were superb...

I love movies on the big screen, with the hot buttered popcorn and the theater atmosphere...

But this was a SPECIAL treat...

Ain't Life Grand!

I'm sure seeing it on the largest screen possible is nice, but it doesn't have to be IMAX or fake IMAX (which are most IMAX).

Simply seeing it in 3d is sufficient. It wasn't filmed in IMAX.

Well...I just saw it in 3D on a non-IMAX screen, but still one of the larger theater screens, with stadium seating...

It was spectacular in that environment...

Finally saw it this afternoon in IMAX 3D. Awesome effect and I was uninitiated to either effect. Thought the screen play only about a 3.25 out of 5, but the effects fully made up for that. I thought I had mud on my glasses as I left. Note to others: don't try darkened stairs in the 3D glasses

It was a very good movie to be sure but the 3D added to it and without that, I think the movie would suffer. It might pick up some awards but I don't see Bulluck winning an Oscar for it. Quite a few movies to come out this year and I find it hard to imagine someone won't have a better performance.
