Ok - so it would be easy enough cast silver bullets, but how in tarnation did he come up with silver casings in the 19th century!??!?. I bet he was foisting cheap 'plate' on his clients.

I missed 16 and 20. Of course, when I saw 16 I was like, "D'oh!!" #20 I don't remember at all, but may have been outside the US when that commercial aired.

Speedy had a pretty long run, but mostly a long time ago.

Notice the baton - he used to 'conduct' the jingle:

"Plop-plop,

Fizz-fizz,

Oh! What a relief it is!"

Yeah - seriously - that was it. What can you say about the 50's?

I remember that jingle, though as children we sang it in a potty context and giggled about it. I still don't remember the character, and picked up the song from other kids on the playground. You'd be amazed at how little television I was exposed to except during my junior high years. The Lone Ranger was something that they'd show on the big screen at the movie theater before the Disney movies on Saturday mornings at the base. Also Zorro.
