A. Garcia & B. Villarreal for Jose Iglesias (confirmed)

Except it's odd that this previously mentioned theory is something I had heard on First Pitch on XM and was plausible enough to discuss in regards to Cruz. But here it's dismissed by the regulars as not worth discussing.

I think there was a good amount of discussion of it and that it was not dismissed. I certainly think it's plausible that he benefitted from PEDs to help with workouts over the winter. I don't see the any strong evidence of it though.

I ask this question a lot and always get the same vague answer, but I'll try again: Who are members of the clique? I have seriously never noticed a clique here.

I have a theory that extroverts tend to dominate converstations in real life and rarely get challenged whether they have something useful to offer or not. Then they get on the computer and are annoyed when introvert engineers and programmers challenge their ideas that they did not challenge in real life because they needed to time to organize their thoughts.

There are certain groups that will continually pile on another poster if they have a different stance. I see this a lot. There is no way I am going to give a list of people I notice who do this. I know for the most part I come on here and defend the heck out of certain people because I feel I have a good idea what they are trying to say, someone misinterprets it and it becomes a flame war. I step in and go to bat for a couple people. I see others do it as well. previously not in a conversation and step in to throw a jab, lol, throw out a snarky comment etc.

It is usually the same group of dudes. It does get irritating...I am sure it irritates other people when I do it as well. My intentions are to help a person who is getting jacked up...rightfully so or (in most cases) not.

Just how I see it. And for the record I am an introvert, but I am not a programmer or engineer.

Just to be clear about this. He doesn't have to be a user himself, does he? I mean, being "in the network" itself (distributing, hooking up friends, etc.) is considered an offense, as I understand it. Emails, or such like, therefore become potential evidence. Perhaps even being in communication with Biogenesis (though that, in and of itself, seems harmless).

Someone please correct me about this if I am wrong.

I'm not sure, but that seems like it would be a legal issue separate from his baseball career.

A part of me thinks that there is an opportunity for the Tigers here in regards to Peralta. The Tigers can nudge and wink at Peralta that if he fights the suspension this year, the Tigers will agree to a 1 year sweatheart deal for 2014 while he serves his suspension in 2014.

This way Peralta know's he doesn't have to go looking for a new home for 2014 while trying to serve a suspension and the Tigers have a insurance policy for a part of the 2014 season in case Iglesias becomes the lighter hitting version of Brendan Ryan. Peralta and the Tigers could also have a winking agreement that if Peralta is not going to be a full time starter in 2014, the Tigers can try and trade him to a good home with another team at Peralta's request.

My thought here is sometimes keeping most of your eggs is not a bad thing. If Infante leaves as a free agent, Peralta plays SS for say 2/3rds the season in 2014 and maybe Iglesias starts the season at SS and then moves to 2B when Peralta finds himself unsuspended for 2014.

Just thinking out loud here!

I think there's no doubt that if suspended, Peralta will begin serving it right away. The Tigers have already made their move, it's pretty much a done deal at this point. We have our SS of the future (theoretically) and we're not going to look back or push on Peralta to do anything.

However, while unlikely, it's not out of the realm of possibilities that we re-sign him this winter. I suspect we'd be more interested in re-signing Infante, if healthy. But if our options narrow and we thought Peralta could play a decent 2B, I don't think a looming 50 game suspension would stop us from making that move.

I just don't know how coming up with some sort of back-alley deal is helpful to either party here. I didn't think saying as much would be snarky. But why would the Tigers want to commit themselves to bringing a guy back that they probably won't have any use for, just on the off-chance that they might? They will still have the opportunity to sign him in the offseason without making some special deal.

For Peralta's part, making a wink-nudge handshake doesn't help him. What's he gonna do if the Tigers change their mind, sue?

And one has to think that any kind of a "wink-nudge" deal would be frowned on by MLB and possibly incur some wrathful punishment. Just not worth it.

From a recent conversation between DD and Peralta's agent:

DD: But still, eh?......wwwwwuuuuuhhhh!!!...eh?

Agent: Look...are you insinuating something?

DD: oh, no! No, no, no, no, no............yes.

The point of a wink-nudge is that nobody finds out.

Might be the intent, my guess is that it wouldn't hold.

The guys on a SABR statistical analysis panel today were using Iglesias as an object lesson to demonstrate how HitFX can tell you when a guy who's hitting out of his mind is due for a crash. Then he hits the homer tonight. Awesome.

I ask this question a lot and always get the same vague answer, but I'll try again: Who are members of the clique?

I don't think you will get an answer to this question because it seems to me most of the posters who invoke it routinely argue in generalities rather than specifics (which is part of the reason their arguments on other topics are routinely challenged in the first place).

And while I don't doubt I am viewed as 'part of the clique', I never met anyone else from (what I perceive is) the clique, never exchanged emails, don't have running dialogues, have no secret decoder ring. I just signed up on the message board 6 years ago because a friend who doesn't even post here suggested I do so, post my thoughts, and that is it. There is no clique.

I only post against content, not the poster. If I routinely argue with a specific poster, it is because I routinely disagree with that poster, nothing more, nothing less. Similarly if I routinely agree with a poster, it is because I routinely agree with that individual.

Lols! You kinda see how ridiculous that sounds, right? Most of the posters.... argue in generalities? Yes, and now include yourself. :)

Dude, I thought we talked about changing that last paragraph?

Never mind, we can talk about it at dinner.

I don't... not when I find the self contradictory argument funny. And as you must know by now I don't value your opinion on such matters.
