Orange Is The New Black

I really liked the first season. The second season isn't living up to the first, but I'm only halfway through. They're doing a lot more flashbacks like on Lost. Some of the characters I really don't care about their back story.

I feel season 2 was a little better than season 1, but it sounds like I didn't care for the 1st season as much as you.

The Rosa character sounded eastern european as a old woman but was supposed to be a latina. That didn't match well.

The show is pretty good, but it also feels like one where it wouldn't bother me if it didn't exist.

I find the hypocracy of Piper and the Alex Voss characters at times to wear on me. I get that is part of the schtick, but at some point someone would call them on their BS.

Season 2 was better than season 1. Still not in love with the show. Sort of relieved I have made it through this season so I don't have to watch any more.

Oh, and Huey told me to tell everyone that he doesn't like the show.
Haven't seen it. Must be on one of those high priced non government subsidized "PREMIUM" channels. Sounds Liberal too!:silly:

Funny you say that. Kenji Johan, the creator of the show, is indeed very liberal. And her views are definitely seeded into the show.

Kind of annoying, as I don't like politics in my entertainment.

I haven't read a Dean Koontz book in years because he puts right wing garbage all throughout his books. And dogs. Dogs everywhere.

On Antrat's recommendation, I started this show. I'm four episodes in (the screwdriver episode) and I think I'm hooked.

The wife and I are watching this, but it hard to make the time after the kids go to bed. We have the same problem with the walking dead and breaking bad.

The one thing I don't care for on the show is Jason Biggs because no matter what he does, he's Jim Levenstein. He is, in my opinion, a one-dimensional actor and that one dimension is Jim.

I thought the same thing. Biggs doesn't have enough versatility to avoid the Jim Levenstein persona no matter which role he takes on.

The first season is outstanding. The second season starts out solid, drags towards the middle, and has an exciting ending. Stick with it -- you should like it.

It does seem like you when you can finally settle in, the prospect of watching an hour long episode of a serialized show is just too much.

I've got a couple full seasons of shows I like sitting on the dvr that are waiting, and I find myself choosing less interesting shows just because I don't know if I can focus on the show enough.

My wife has been passing through the room while I'm watching it and it's piqued her interest. Thankfully it hasn't ever been during the soft porn scenes because I'd get "the look".

I must say that I knew that Boo took the screwdriver because there is no way she could have not felt that when she sat on that 2" mattress.

I agree, I think he just not a very good actor and from what I understand a jackass in reality.

The show needs more lesbian sex though, for a womens prison movie it is tame.

The bad hygiene jokes are getting stale as well.

Thankfully, outside of Piper's friend, his is the least consequential character in the show, such that when I'm reminded of him I think, "Oh yeah, he's in it. Totally forgot that."

Drives me nuts that I'm stuck waiting so long for a new season of this show. On-demand streaming--a gift and a curse.

Okay, I'm three episodes into season two and Vee has been introduced.

One thing I thought they could have done better was when Piper was telling Soso the news, I thought she should have ensured that she got off the bed rather than walking away. That said, I'm really enjoying this series. Good call AntRat!

Great show. We binged both seasons. Potthole, have you finished BrBa?

Nope. On either season 3 or 4. I like to rotate shows one season at a time, otherwise I tend to burn myself out on them.

I haven't watched season 3 yet. From the reviews I've seen, I may wait awhile. Biggs brought up the fact that her show "Weeds" was the same way. Good the first two seasons and then off a cliff.

There has been a couple of good episodes (Ching Chong Chang and the one where they show the background on Pennsatucky). There have been some amusing moments like when a lot of the black women claim to be Jewish in order to get the better tasting Kosher meals.

Plus there is a pretty big reveal on Joe Caputo.

Other than that, I only watch because I've watched the other two seasons.

I watched the first couple is episodes and lost interest. It does seem to be going like Weeds.
