Is Peralta about to be suspended? Backup plan?

Recommended Posts

No proof of that at all. If there is at some point, get rid of them too. Root for a cheater if you want, I won't.

Ironic statement considering there is no proof that peralta or anyone else on the team cheated.

How come there's seemingly endless outrage about steroids in baseball, but nary a cross word about steroids in football or basketball? Surely the problem is not so much bigger in baseball than the other two sports to warrant this imbalance? Anyone care to explain that?

I think football has had blood testing in place for quite a while.

In baseball records are more sacred such as the home run record and people feel that steroids are responsible for certain home run titles. Nobody cares as much about tackles.

Yeah, no proof at all. MLB drew 20 names out of a hat or something.

Or the owner of a known illegal performance enhancing drug distributor is going to testify against said players. One of the two.

That's proof that names are on a list.

Stop being a blatant homer. You know damn well if Peralta wasn't on the list, you'd be in here talking about what a horrible thing it was and how the players should be punished.

I'd like to see evidence of Shelton ever saying that.

So we are to believe that Peralta used steroids last year and basically sucked but hasn't used this year and is the best shortstop in the AL? Oh, ok.

OK, you answered the question I asked, which is why the outrage exists, and I agree with your analysis. Now the question is, is the relative outrage over steroids in baseball versus the other two sports justifiable?

Who said anything about this year

MIGuy, why are you eager to believe that Peralta used PEDs? Pudge and Ordonez were both rumored to have taken PEDs and nothing was ever proven. There have been lots of cases like that.

I believe Arod did test positive before the substances were banned and he admitted to it. Ordonez was just a rumor.

Suarez is probably the best minor league option for the Tigers right now. But I dont think it is for sure Peralta will be suspended. Santiago will probably be the man to replace him if/when it does happen.

Can Douglas play short?

A couple of thoughts:

1. w/r/t other sports, I'm pretty sure HGH use was rampant in the NFL for at least a decade and no one really cares at all, who knows why

2. Clearly, if Jhonny Peralta did use banned substances, it would just show what a gritty leader he is. What could be more emblematic of giving it all for the team than risking your longterm health with questionable substances for a possible competitive advantage?

I would like to know this magic drug that can raise your batting average a hundred points. I would take it myself.

Viagra? I guess you can hit it out of the park every time with it...
