Could/Would Granholm run?

I believe she lives in California now. She moved out as soon as her Governor's term was over. I wouldn't put it past her to try and carpetbag.

So would the dems....:laugh::silly:

No kidding, I have refused to vote in that Congressional race the last two elections. I couldn't support either candidate. It takes a lot for me to skip a race while voting but Amash has given me the strength twice :)

Yet you probably voted for Romney...

Carl Levin is a tightwad. He used to stiff all the tipped employees when he'd come to the Ritz-Carlton for events. Plus, he's got a preposterous comb-over. All more meaningful than his position on Iraq.

Could/Would Granholm run?

I remember seeing her with Gore at a 2000 campaign stop. She stole the stage with her energy and charisma. Though I doubt I would often agree with her she would have been a much more effective Senator than Governor. Now I hope it's too late to find out.

She and her Hubby both with faculty appointments at UC Berkeley. - Still residency only takes what? 30 days? Wonder if they still own any property here? She grew up in CA but Mulhern is a Michigander.

The bench seems thin on both sides, I can't think of 1 person that would be immediately a "favorite" if they decided to run. I could see the R candidate being Candice Miller. A woman that has won statewide races multiple times and is perceived as relatively moderate.

Haven't followed her at all as a Congressperson, but she sure shaped up the SOS when she took it over. Not that that is relevant for a Senator, but it was impressive at any rate.

She pretty much votes with the leadership but has never been a big "voice" on the right. I'd agree with your SOS statement and not to diminish it but it was low hanging fruit to shape things up considering that after 25 years under Austin there were lots of good reforms waiting to be made. The fact remains that she did make them though.

It would be fun to actually have a competitive Senate race here, it's been a while. 1 Republican elected to a single term since 1972 doesn't offer much hope that there will be a race though.

In defense of Levin, he has been one of the few willing to hold Goldman's feet to the fire...

Goldman Exec: It's Unfortunate To Have ****** Deal "On E-Mail" - YouTube

Might be all bluster, but these Goldman guys need all the scrutiny they can get....

I remember watching the Goldman thing. It was funny, and it was weird hearing a congressman cuss from the podium. Part of the entertainment put on for the serfs.

I wouldn't put it past Granholm to try to come back & run. Moron. If Rogers runs, he'll probably get my vote. I'm just hoping somebody hides this bit of news from the people who ran Pete Hoekstra's last 2 campaigns.

I think a lot of what happens depends on how long Gov Snyder's coattails are and whether the Dems really want to put up a challenge there or hold on to the Senate.

I would expect Gary Peters to run for the Senate, not sure who would challenge Snyder

I think Amash would have support from the state party. Ignoring his political beliefs, he's exactly what independent voters look for, a person that fully outlines his opinion on everything and isn't seen as someone just toting his party. I think the national party would really push him away though.

Personally I would love Amash, I may not be as libertarian as him, but I do think someone should have a voice for that platform within our gov't.

Granholm would definitely be a front runner if she did. Not sure if she wants to. I never heard anything specific, but the fact that she hasn't been in Obama's cabinet makes me think she likely turned him down or at least never pushed for it.

I follow Rep. Amash on Facebook and he explains every single vote to his constituents on his Facebook page. I think Amash is someone I could get behind. If he's not the nominee, than it's Scotty Boman for me again. Maybe once he's found not guilty Y'allz Boy will run.
