OOTP Owner needed.

Recommended Posts

We are once again looking for new league members. Right now we are 20 strong, and have 2 people already interested. With 2 more, we could expand possibly to a league of 24. Let me know if you are interested or feel free to ask any questions here or by PM.

OOTP = Out Of The Park. It is a baseball simulation game. We have an online league right now of 20 people. You are basically the GM of the team. We generally run 3 Sims per week, with each Sim encompassing one week of game time. It is quite a bit of fun, and most of the folks in the league are from this forum as well.

We are currently using OOTP16 as the game engine. We generally upgrade every other version, with 16 being the latest version and OOTP annually releasing a new version sometime between spring training and maybe April at the latest.

Our league is comprised of fake players, and all franchises have minor league teams in AAA, AA, A, SA, and R, as well as an international reserve roster (based on what talent your scout finds oversees). Some owners use the minors to the max and fill their rosters. Others will only carry a few prospects at any given level and the sim engine will just use "ghost" players to fill out the daily lineups. So its more like real baseball rather than fantasy.

Currently we are in year 2032. Walt mentioned the sim schedule. We can usually get through two or three seasons per real calendar year. If you miss a sim, it isn't the worst thing in the world, but its definitely in your best interest to keep up with the sims.

It is very addictive and playing in a league with some great guy's. If you are a baseball junkie and I would bet you are if you are reading this in midwinter then this game and league of mostly tigers fans is for you.

Is there a cost to play?

Just for the game ($20/2 years usually) and $5/year for server maintenance.
