2/12/13 (4) Michigan @ (8) Michigan State

Mcgary has to get off the floor. He just keeps turning it over. Not his night. Beilein has done a terrible job preparing these guys for big games.

Every team seems to shoot lights out against Michigan, at least early, poor defense is partly the reason.

Partly? Michigan constantly forgets to rotate on defense. If a team is setting off-ball screens against Michigan, there is a guy wide open on every single possession.

Ugh Stauskus got the Spartan in the air who landed on him and the refs ate the whistle. Of course the Spartans then go down and hit a 3 to make it 48-29. Should have been 45-31 after the Nick free throws. I don't know if Michigan can come back from this far down.

OK time to look at this rationally as a loss looks immenent.

Michigan will now be 21-4 after tonight.

The next 3 games are 0-11 Penn State twice and Illinois at home.

Then at Purdue and home at MSU. Could easily be 26-4 after that run leading to the home finale with Indiana.

Michigan needs to get its act together and finish strong for the Big 10 tourney.

The way Michigan has looked over the last two weeks, the only "kind of sort of" lock wins in there are the Penn State games. They could easily be 23-7 before getting thumped by Indiana to end the regular season.

Well, there is no way to sugarcoat that loss. Msu played one of their best games and Michigan played one of their worst, with each performance by the respective teams obviously affecting the other. When that happens you get games like last night, or duke-Miami.

That being said, the tough portion of the schedule is over and michigan would probably be a 2 seed at worst as of today. And winning the remaining six games, a reasonable task for a very good team like Michigan given the schedule, will likely result in a shared title.

It will be nice to regroup and feast on some minnows. Looking forward to the home rematches against msu and Indiana with the title up for grabs.
