  1. 1. How many games will they win?

Recommended Posts

Last year, I think I picked 92 wins. This year, I'm going to play it safe and go with 95. I really do think they could win between 96-98 games this year, with health on their side.

Didn't someone here pick 108 wins last year?

96. Adding Hunter, V-Mart, and a full year of Anibal. Could (should) be the best regular season under Leyland's tutelage, especially given our division.

I'm also looking forward to how many strikeouts our pitching will have against the revamped Indians lineup with Mark Reynolds, Drew Stubbs, and Nick Swisher. Reynolds/Stubbs have 4 of the top 5 single-season strikeout records and Swish k'ed 141 times last year.

92 wins.

I think it is early to talk about this , as there probably will be some injuries in ST. The left side of the defense is still suspect. There is no closer.

OTOH, having V-Mart and Hunter on the team, even assuming some DL time, should yeild more quality at bats. If Dirks has 2 healthy hamstrings, that improves the defense and he probably will hit a little better than last year.

The team makes it to the playoffs, but there are too many questions yet to proejct much more than that.

93, and I just guessed. Deep, I know. Reasoned judgements on these things always elude me. It seems they could win 100 games, but we can't expect the Central to just bend over for the Tigers, so 93 it is, maybe even less but an exact number is needed.

Way too soon. And I think it does potentially matter significantly if they trade Porcello and what they get in return if they do.

And I have significant concerns about Boras talking to Illitch about Bourn, and ending up getting shackled with a big contract there. So I'm not certain the roster is generally set.

I picked 109 last year I think.. so this year I'm going with 90. So much can happen it's hard to predict but I hope they're closer to 109 this year.

100 if porcello stays.

98 if porcello traded for prospects.

101 if we add a right handed outfielder.

79 if boesch plays.

That would be great, but I will still ***** about Leyland and Lamont.

I think they'll win 101 games. They could win 103, but I think they'll lose two games because of the dumb new "fake to 3rd, throw to 1st" balk rule. Tigers pitchers seemed to do that a lot last year and I think they'll get called on it a couple times with the game on the line. Early season games tho, so they won't be that big of a deal. And I predict Lamont will still get a couple guys thrown out at home, when Brookens gets tossed and Gene has to fill in, lol.

I bet it happens 0 times. They'll simply just use the old step off and hold the ball up while looking at the runner move. Both are equally worthless IMO.

The division is better. Someone important will get hurt. Porcello will stay and will still be...Porcello. The bullpen will disappoint. But they'll have enough starting pitching and the best 3-4-5 around to win the division by one or two games. Garcia gets dealt for bullpen help.

95. With a healthy VMart, the addition of Hunter, some additional production from Avila and Peralta, and a full year of Sanchez and Infante I would hope this team is 7 wins better than last year. This is of course assuming that we stay healthy or can recover from unforeseen injuries. I wouldn't mind waiting to trade Porcello just until we make sure everyone can stay healthy, it wouldn't hurt to have pitching depth in case of injury or to use as trade.

The sox had a bunch of people perform above expectation last year, they're bound to level back out. And we've been hearing about how good the royals will be for a couple years now. They only improved by 1 game last year. I need to see them improve before assuming they'll affect the Tigers record.

used to be possible with a 4 man rotation, but winning 20 of 33-35 starts is a lot tougher than 20 of 40. . Has any staff had even 3 on one staff with a 5 man rotation?
