I guess that was supposed to be funny....hahahahaha

lol

Anyway..Karsch and Anderson have been talking about it all show as if it was something new..sorry I missed it.

The only thing I know about it is that someone saw this dude molesting kids, told his boss and he kept working there 30+ years after this person saw him do it.

I do not know who the person was who saw him and do not have a lot of details. While they have been talking about it on the radio I have been busy and it was back round noise. I thought it was an interesting topic...maybe I was wrong.

I don't understand the Pennsylvania law where you're supposed to report criminal activities to your superiors and not law enforcement. That doesn't make any sense.

Joe Pa needs to resign immediately. This is BS. This is a case where doing what you're supposed to do is not nearly good enough. How many kids were taken advantage of because Joe Pa and others did not call the police in 2002? This whole situation is f'd up, and Penn State needs to cleanse themselves of anyone associated with this situation.

Paterno has to go. Anyone that knew this and allowed this man to come anywhere near the program needs to be fired. NOW.

I will go a step further and say if they knew about it and didn't notify the police they should serve jail time. And it is not only about knowing, but you have to throw the legal term 'should have known' into the mix or 'reasonably expected to know'.

You're blurring the line between immoral and illegal.

If this is JoPa's last year, it does put a horrible stain on his legacy (not that it matters or even comes close to the crimes Sandusky is accused of). The GA had some pretty horrible details that he claim he told Paterno, Paterno states he was not told those details but did report it to his superior. I'm not sure of the state law but I'm not sure how you tell your boss and not the cops in this situation.

Negative. In the corporate sense of the word..knowing someone is creating a crime and not saying anything is punishable with in the law in this context because it was reported on by someone within the university.

There is also something called the bystander law...Seinfelds last episode was based of it and it was a real law.

I am on my way out of the office John, I will reply to this eventually though.

Over react much? We have no idea how much Joe Pa knew.

Well lets look at this. Mike McQueary comes to Paterno and tells him that MM saw Sandusky raping a 10 year old boy. Paterno reported it to PSU officials. PSU officials effectively did nothing. In response to PSU officials doing nothing, JoePa did nothing.

So either:

a) JoePa believes McQueary and he was fine with the University doing nothing about a child rapist or

b) JoePa doesn't believe McQueary but he kept - and promoted - a coach on his staff who accused a longtime friend and colleague of raping a child.

And, of course, those are only the first questions that Paterno needs to answer about Sandusky. There are many, many more and I suspect Paterno has about 3 games (at most) left in his college career.

The worst thing about this is after hearing of this, Joe called his supervisor, which was the right move, but then did nothing upon seeing PSU not pursuing it further. Joe Pa should have called the police, but what is most disturbing is Joe Paterno allowed Sandusky to be involved with youth football and Penn State. I don't know how you allow that guy to set foot on campus for any reason after hearing this.

The whole thing is sickening and anyone that had knowledge of this and did not inform the police should be fired, legend or not.

Paterno makes me sick.

Joe Paterno of Penn State Nittany Lions says ,'If true, we were all fooled' - ESPN

As my grand jury testimony stated, I was informed in 2002 by an assistant coach that he had witnessed an incident in the shower of our locker room facility. It was obvious that the witness was distraught over what he saw, but he at no time related to me the very specific actions contained in the Grand Jury report.

but I read the grand jury report [PDF]...

the assistant coach went to Paterno's house the day after to tell him what he had witnessed. The grand jury report does not say the specificity of what was said, but Paterno went to his higher-ups the very next day to report it. Those higher-ups say that when they met with the assistant coach, he didn't give specifics but just vaguely referenced horsing around and inappropriate sexual conduct. The assistant coach insists he told them exactly what he saw, Sandusky engaged in sodomy of a boy approximately age 10. The grand jury indicted both of the higher-ups (athletic director and university vice president) for perjury, believing them to be lying when they testified they were not told specifics. Why then should I believe Paterno that the assistant didn't say what the inappropriate sexual conduct entailed and that Paterno didn't ask?

This really does blow tattoo gate out of the water. College Football is really a horror show. I hate to say it because I want it to be a notch above the NFL somehow. If this happened to Bo, I'd be just as angry.

I had a PSU fan literally crying to me about what this would do to Joe Paterno's reputation. Particularly when I said, that this Saturday will be the last time we see him as coach of the team if he makes it that long.

This might be the sickest, most messed up, disgusting, horrific, sports scandal I can remember. I advocate the death penalty for murderers, terrorists (even if their plot was foiled), and child rapists.

This story makes the Tiger Woods story look like a joke. This really has me sick to my stomach.

This is a lot like the Catholic church scandal in Boston. Instead of protecting children, they went to protect their rep and their money while children continued to be in danger. It is shameful. What does this do to Joe Paterno's reputation? As far as I am concerned Joe Paterno is dead to me after 2002.

Shivers...read the grand jury report...my god...just horrible. I feel awful for those children. I hope they get whatever they need. I also feel bad for PSU fans...a massive blemish will now be attached to PSU indefinitely.

Joe should of beat his *** and fired him if he could. The politics of this is sickening as who is responsible? Joe or the people he reported it to? A lot of prison time for the offenders (people who didn't act) is what should happen but we know how that goes when big money and reputation is involved.

It just reeks of Paterno and Co. continually sweeping Sandusky's indescretions under the rug to protect his legacy. Paterno is stunned in the same way Tressel was when the Tatoo-gate stuff came out.

As far as I'm concerned, Paterno condoned pedofilia by not speaking up louder knowing that Sandusky was walking free and still working with kids. He knew that speaking up would put his legacy at risk and chose to keep it on the down low. Just downright shameful, and worse than anything that any crooked coach has done this side of Dave Bliss.
