Yes, he got hurt. Some sort of leg injury. Couldn't tell exactly what.

He has done a fine job while assigned to Lakeland.

There is a tweet from Mark at TigsTown that Danry rolled an ankle and will be back in the lineup tonight.

I dunno, I've always felt like AA is really the make-it-or-break-it level, so I guess I could see there being a higher number of people calling it quits-- they get to AA and realize they just don't have it to advance to the big show.

Tigers signed undrafted Catcher from South Florida Andrew Longley and assigned him to GCL

With the addition of Longley the organization appears now to have their full complement of catchers: 3 each for the short-season clubs (VSL Tigers have 4), and 2 each for the 5 full-season clubs. Murrian and Leyland are still on the DL, so when they come off, there will still be a couple of emergency catchers floating around. Avila's knee problems are mitigated by the fact that Laird is having a good year, and that both Brantly (Toledo) and McCann (Erie) are not too far away.

They filled out their catching staff with 3 draftees (Pickar, Neil, and Kapstein) and 2 NDFAs (Remes and Longley).

Bill Castillo and Edwin Gomez both released today with the signings of Turley and J. Stewart.

Not surprised...with so many picks signed, I knew something was going to happen, especially in the OF.

Gomez was such a disappointment..for a fourth round pick, He never produced and had a terrible attitude !

A new name on the roster in Venezuela;

Victor Padron

OF

7 / 5 / 94

5-8 , 160

L - R

Puerto Cabella, VZ

Started in LF today, batting 9th: 2 for 3 with 2 walks, 2 runs scored, 1 rbi. Not a bad start.

Hopefully, they'll capitalize on the Venezuelan prospects that they've signed ! Seems like a lot of teams have cut back there .

I suspect the other teams are still scouting and signing Venezuelan players, but are sending them to the DSL or bringing them stateside.
